Back off the Island with a serious thread.
Since I first read Fruiting Bodies in the early 90's I leaned towards preferring Brian's short story collections. I suppose because you can read a couple commuting to and fro work every day.
Just got the above book in the post and although it only contains 2 of his early stories, I must say the MAN has done it again. BUY THIS BOOK
Cement Surroundings (1969) was an excellent read (aren't they all) but Spaghetti (1985)
scared the SH** out of me.
I just hope Brian still has a few short story gems yet to be published.
