New friends - old friends - missed friends.

I wish I could sum up this great weekend in a couple of paragraphs but I'm just not that literate.

Speaking for myself (and judging by the smiles enveloping the room) it was a wonderful evening... and for those with the constitution a very wonderful morning too.

The food was good, the prizes excellent, the reading... well, someone else will have to tell you about that. Möbius were, unfortunately, restrained by a non-disclosure agreement but had a nice wee promo to show...

The panel was inciteful, if a little nervous, but all that was overcome quickly when they realised they were talking about something they cared about.

Others will have more to say, more details and insight - I'll leave by saying it was great to see you all again, old friends and, I hope, new - and now I have enough memories to carry me till the next time...

Me & Mazrah had a great time meeting up with old and new friends. And as Phil has already said there were quite a few highlights.
The Reading from Brian was........unforgettable, but of course if I told you what he read I would have to Kill you.

I had the honour of Chairing the Panel, and we faced some tricky questions, but with the aide of Nick Austin, Keith, Tom & Marrisa we managed to bluff our way through tongue.gif

Then there was the raffle,...Drink, Brian's interview,...more drink, Mobius, err...drink, the Vasagi statuette (which was amazing)....yeah you guessed it Drink ,and so much more, but I'll leave that for someone else to post.

I'll finish by thanking Brian, Silky and Deb's for a great weekend, and I can't wait for KeoghCon III IN 2003 ;)

Yes it was indeed excellent. I enjoyed the day so much the time just seemed to fly by. I can't wait for the next one. Many thanks Brian, Silky and Debs for such a memorable occasion and to everone else for tuning up too.
Now how can I get my hands on one of them sculptures?

Totally enjoyed the whole thing. Thanks to Brian, Silky and of course Debs for the sorting out.

Well done to all who took part in the panel, lively debate and you guys know far too much about Brian's work (loads more than me anyways).

Wish I'd got a little more involved myself but as it was only my second meeting up, I was a bit shy

Once again, nice to meet everyone even the newer ones than me.

I'll write some more when I get chance.

p.s Phil, cool trousers.... :D

We had a great time.

Thanks to all who attended and made this Con so memorable.

Special thanks to Debs for all her work and of course to Brian and Silky for making everyone feel welcome.

One of my best memories of this year will be the pool competition into the early hours with Yoda and the gang.

hmmm, Yoda and the gang, who could that possibly be? heh heh .... poor llamedos not being able to get up off the floor for laughter:)

this year was better than last year (if that's at all possible), but that's probably becuase it wasn't just about meeting new friends, it was about meeting old ones as well, and that doesn't detract from the meeting of new ones (you know who you are, well I hope so anyway!).

My main gripe about this year (not that it's a gripe) is that a few of you couldn't make it that did last year... most missed were Shroom, Layla, Shadoe and Pote.

Possible favourite bit after the reading and the schmoozing was the word game during the pool tournament. never, never have I heard or used words in such interesting ways:)

Finally, I know this was a Brian Lumley event and without him it wouldn't have happened, but with out Goth Girl it wouldn't have happened either, my thanks to everyone else who made it such a fun night:) And no one mention a fight that never happened in manchester city centre!

more.... manythanks to the people who added to the event, Paul with his Vasagi statues, Paul and the interview from Lighthouse magazine, Mobius for an insightful look into the world of games design, and to my fellow members of the panel who did a superior job on making it work....

Recovering... slowly... smile.gif

It was awesome... no other word for it. I'll probably write more in the next newsletter (unfortunately the deadline this time was before KeoghCon!), but I just want to thank everyone there this weekend. I'm constantly amazed by how such a diverse group of people can get on so well, and this weekend really proved it.

My photos, mostly of the panel discussion and the raffle, are going to be winging their way on a CD to our webmaster very soon.

Special hello for Marissa, Mikael and Jonas who all travelled a long way to be there - hope you all arrived home OK. And to my two life savers, Lady Louise and Dark Crystal... you're great! ;)

And the biggest thank you of all - Brian and Silky... thank you so much for a wonderful weekend.

Well - I wasn't there but I did want to say thanks to the gang for giving me a ring Friday night.

It was great talking with all of you and - why not as good as being there - was about the next best thing. If only the backgground noise would have been a little less I might have actually heard EVERYthing you all were saying to me! lol

Here's looking forward to the next KeoghCon and me being able to afford to go! :D

She will be posting very soon, but until then she wanted to say a thank you to everyone who was there and made her weekend an excellent one.

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Sharon and her sister Joanne, gorgeous girls and fun to be around, and look forward to meeting them again soon... we'll make sure there are more Bacardi Breezers next time! smile.gif

I know this is a few days late, but lots of fun and amazing times were had last weekend. We (myself and Natasha) met up with old friends and new friends alike, all of which made the weekend better!!! I'm sure we all have our favourite moments, but if no one objects i'd like to share but a few of mine...

1) Keith's present
2) Shopping with Pinhead on Friday
3) friday nights drinking spree (except for that blasted eeyore picture, yes Dark Crystal you know the one  )
4) the event it self

to name but a few, and there are too many to write or id be here all night.
Although the one memory that does stick in my mind was the birthday card Sarah & Keith bought for Natasha that was given to her by The Master, and was signed by every one. I wish i had a photo of her face when it was given to her!!

On behalf of us both i'd like to thank you all for the best weekend we've ever had!

Well, I made it back across the pond in 1 piece, even though I didn't get to sleep Saturday night before my flight. Pool and descriptive words.
I had such a great time, I have to thank Brian, Silky and with many thanks, Debs. It was a blast and I will definetly find myself in the area again, should another KeoghCon manage to happen again.
Everyone was great, thank you so much for making me feel like I belonged, even though I was the only "American" there. Maybe next time, some of my fellow country men/women can be there as well.
Memories.....

It was great to meet you, and I know I speak for all when I say you would be sorely missed next year if you don't attend.

Well..... back home again after having an absolutely brilliant time.I would like to thank so many people for making it a special weekend, obviously Brian,Silky and Debs who planned the whole event flawlessly, but also new friends Mark,Martin,Geraldine and Merissa to mention just a few and old ones...Tom (well maybe not that old!).I can't remember when I enjoyed a weekend so much and I agree with Debs about the diversity of people,I think that's what made it so special. Can't we have these 6 monthly...I have withdrawl symptoms already.
I can't wait for the convention in 2004 to meet everyone again and hopefully Paul will have sculpted more busts by then...I want them all!!!
Am I glad he only lives down the road !
I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as myself and Paul..I'm sure everyone did... Take Care... John
