Fellow KeoghConians...
We'll as you all know by now we are now set for KCIV. And just for easy reference to anyone who hasn't looked yet:
http://www.brianlumley.com/cons/kc4.html
From now until October 2 ... this is the place to put any comments about KCIV.
Actually, it's not all that far away.
As I've said already, we are very pleased with the location of our new venue and I think you all will be pleased as well. You are no longer stranded and once you get to the hotel everything is within walking distance.
And I'm very pleased that some of you have already requested the hotel information. The sooner you are booked the better.
We'll talk soon...
BTW ... Please keep me informed of any change of e-mail address if you to get your personal posts. ;)

A note of interest.
The first hotel room has been booked and I have been informed that only a £20.00 deposit was required and that there was no trouble at all doing the booking.
However, I would suggest you call to book rather than doing e-mail.

Just sent off a cheque to cover our deposit for the room. Very easy people to talk to at the hotel and very helpful.
We have decided to carry on in our normal manner and will be there for a couple of days before and after. This will give us time to explore during the day and carry on the tradition of trying to drink the bar dry at night.
See you all there......

AARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOHH
In a bit of a bind here folks, my girlfriend thinks we should do more things together blah blah and I said yeah sure lets do more things together, then...she's just asked when KC4 is
The thing is she normally takes the piss and only reads Marion Keyes books, looks like I'll be having a guest this year an old Clarkey wont be staying up as late as usual, well if he knows whats good for him he wont :(

Helm, but what about the late night stories of your own adventures. Does this mean no continuation. Actually I may need more than a year to get over the last lot. Maybe this is a good idea. grin.gif

I may be bringing a new victim, I'm not sure yet. I won't be able to book until after April for the hotel or the membership, I won't be able to afford anything until after little old Whitby *sigh*

I'll be sending off cheques and what not but i've to wait until I get paid and I don't know when that is going to be. I'm going to be an extra in silent witness but I don't know when the BBC will pay out but it's either that or wait until the end of March for my student loan.

I love Silent Witness. Let me know when...

KeoghConians...
I would suggest for those who may be short of cash at the moment to book your hotel room first and then you can get your ticket(s) a little later.
It's only £20.00 deposit to book the room and you want to make sure you get one.

I'm working on getting some photos to post in this section of Torquay. I'm going to get to town earlier than usual one morning and take some good ones. With the streets basically empty. Don't want buses and delivery trucks blocking everything... ;)
I want to make Torquay really enticing...

February 19th, 2004, 11:34 AM
ah but Silky,
With everyone one wanting to go, do you need to entice them? Although, it would be nice to see some pictures as I've only ever been through Torquay!

If you could make the photo's a bit fuzzy, it would help identify landmarks on the way back from the pub smile.gif

DC don't you be cheeky. I'm not doing a before and after.
If you can't find your way back to the hotel from the pub next door you are in sad shape. ;)

I took some photos today when I was in town. So within the next two/three weeks I should be able to get them ready.
Also, stopped at the hotel today and rooms are booking up.
NOTE: There are only 26 rooms in the hotel and 6 of them are already booked.
6 booked for us of course, that's not counting the rooms that have been booked by someone else. Gee folks, if we get those rooms booked asap we will basically have the entire hotel to ourselves ... think of that... ;)
Although we don't expect everyone to come that came last year ... we used 20 rooms at the other hotel.

OK, my room is now booked.
I've been told that the rooms are filling up quite quickly, so I really would advise getting your room booked asap. If money's an issue, I'd suggest booking your room first, and buying your KeoghCon ticket later.

I'm booked in, well I'll be sending my deposit!
I'm staying friday to sunday.
Very pleasant on the phone, and when I said Keoghcon, they knew exactly what I meant, which was a nice surprise after last year!
Very pleased with these people, damn good stuff!

I've booked our twin room too with no problems now I just have to get the money back from the last hotel that charged me twice lol.Just as you said Tom they knew what I was talking about for the first time in four years of booking.
Can't wait for October.

Yep, Debs ... thanks for that.
See you all ... I'm not pulling your leg on this. The rooms are booking up.
We stopped in the hotel this morning to get the contract signed and I had a look at the reservations.
The bar will be well stocked. ;) Mmmmmmmm, I can taste those cranberry breezers now...
With everybody getting their deposit in early we could end up having almost the entire hotel to ourselves ... what do you think of that!
Gotta go...

February 23rd, 2004, 08:10 PM
that'll upset the residents smile.gif
heh heh... but the hotel to ourselves would be great... no others to use the pool table, and no one else to drink "our bar" smile.gif

Just put my reservation in and all that's left to do is send off the deposit...WOO HOO
I don't know if they mentioned it to some of you guys but aparently their are a few ground rules;
NO clipping of waiters round the ear hole
And
NO mentioning the war
Avoid these and everything else should run smoothly ;)

I have a feeling this is going to be the best KC yet. Yep, I see a party night out of this...
And yes, thanks everyone for letting me know what day you will arrive and what day you leave.
It gets my mind working ... on what ... well, we shall see if anything develops...
This is a sheer joy for Brian and I. We can really enjoy ourselves without the worry about our train getting us there and back. And we don't have to lug all those raffle prizes too far. grin.gif
Besides which, you'll get to see some horrific things Brian has that you would have never gotten to see otherwise ... yippee!
