KCV PROGRESS REPORT 3 AND CONTINUED DISCUSSIONS...

Well, the last two days were spent printing off stuff for the goodie envelope. Today I will spend time stuffing the envelopes.

Your envelope this year will have your name on it as I have done something more personalized to stick in there this year, which I hope you will all like.

There'll be two 45 minute readings. One story will fill the 45 min slot and the other slot will be filled by two stories. Some of your requests have been met. grin.gif

I've also got the program pretty much worked out now though I won't print that off until two weeks before the con. Since it is our fifth anniversary, I've done a special style program this year ... more professional. I'll be sending out the preliminary program closer to the time but if your email addy has changed do let me know please. No sense sending out a post if it's going to bounce...

Since I know Debs is busy ... if you've paid your membership fee and your name isn't on the Official List, do let me know. Also if you have a board name and it isn't showing on the list, do let me know as well and I'll add it. It's always nice to know who's who on the board.

Ottakars wants Brian to do a signing on the Sunday during the convention. He'll be deciding soon if he's going to do it and it would certainly be nice if those of you who are staying on until Monday could attend. Steve, the manager is a real nice guy. He used to work at W.H. and I used to yammer on to him all the time about Brian. They always keep Brian's stuff well stocked. I'll keep you informed on this.

Well, I think that pretty much covers things at this stage. All our guests are very much looking forward to attending ... despite the problems we've been having in this country of late. Allen K. has been wanting to get over here from quite some time. After KC they are going to spend some time in London. Allen wants to search out those old secondhand book shops.

So ... snap to ... snap to ... time to start getting those membership fees paid. ;)

Just out of interest how long is everyone staying? Joanne and I will be arriving on the Friday, Joanne will be leaving on Sunday but I might like to stay Sunday and go back home Monday. I never like to leave!

John & Paul ...Gareth & Richard Charlton ... John & Carol ... Gareth & Charlotte ... I will assume you are arriving on the Friday but when are you leaving.

It's quite possible if you contact Sue one week before the con you might be able to get a room for Thursday night but there are no guarantees. But Sue won't give out any rooms before then.

Me and Richard are arriving on Friday, staying until Sunday, so in other words we're staying both Friday and Saturday night.

And we're both very much excited, its getting closer by the day. (Inane statement alert.)

If that signing on Sunday goes ahead, depending on train times, we'll probably catch that too.

hi I'm going down the Wednesday going home Monday so if any one wants to meet up on the Thursday for a drink im staying at the heritage hotel and then moving to our hotel on the friday (I CAN'T WAIT )

If Brian does the signing we'll try to get it at an earlier hour so that anyone leaving Sunday that wants to join in can do.

Ottakars opens at 11:00 on Sunday so we'll have to take it from there.

While I'm thinking of it. For those of you who will be having breakfast in the morning, for you newbies ... breakfast is included in your room rate ... I'm going to cut the breakfast off at 10:30. I need to start setting up at 11:00 and I don't want to rush...

And I know some of you strapping lads will be willing to help us unload the boxes of raffle prizes out of our car and take them up to our room on Friday and then down again Saturday morning ... and, eh ... I'll have the boxes counted. grin.gif More than last year...

Hi Silky,

We will probably be arriving a lot earlier in the week and leaving on the Monday morning as it is time for a break after a long year :cool:
I hope that the Ottakars signing takes place as that would mean that they fill up the shelves with Lumley books.

Well that 7 hour drive is getting closer grin.gif and do I need a holiday. Looking forward to seeing you all again in sunny(hopefully)Torquay. The time seems to have flown by since the last Keoghcon I can't believe it's nearly here again.
