View Full Version : Necroscope Knowledge III

Nathan

Well, it seems interest in this game has picked up again so here's a fresh thread.

The rules for any new recruits or short term memory loss sufferers. :D

*Once you have answered a question correctly, you are then next in line to ask a question of the rest of us.

*Please wait until your answer is confirmed as correct before moving on with your question. Usually this is done by the asker, but on occasion, that person is away and it can be confirmed by someone else. (But only after looking it up to be sure it is right.)

*Necroscope questions only in this thread. The "Lumlian Jeopardy" thread is where questions for other books should be placed. (If you can get a turn. :D)

*Don't be shy about taking guesses if you want. Even the most knowledgeable Lumlian around here has made an ass of his/herself. (Except those who're too scared to play! :D)

Would our newest Lady recruit care to start this one off? smile.gif

EDIT--hisself. :D What a hick...

Very well,...Let the Games Begin. smile.gif

Easy one:
This Sunside fashion statement was proclaimed by Lady Karen as "Insulting/Mocking" on Starside.

Note: Someone be a dear & acknowledge the correct answer for me, as I will be working 12 hour shifts at the hospital for the next 2 days. smile.gif

Nathan

I'm gonna take a wild stab without looking it up and say...

Silver jewelry?

Lady Marie
July 20th, 2001, 09:00 AM
That's logical, but this had to do with Zek's combat suit at Corlis's extermination party.

Lagula Longarm
July 20th, 2001, 12:24 PM
Ahhhh was it something to do with the perchorsk badge/sigil ?

Lady Marie
July 20th, 2001, 12:42 PM
The ole hammer & sickle (most folks 'round here call it a "Slingblade"...) would be correct, sir. I curtsy most respectively. Have at-it, Captain. smile.gif

Lagula Longarm
July 20th, 2001, 10:13 PM
Can you name the unfortunate liutenant who was blasted out of the sky by an armour pierced rocket at sanctuary rock?

Nathan
July 25th, 2001, 12:30 AM
No guesses?

I'll expand on Deano's hint...it's in Bloodwars. :D

Lagula Longarm
July 25th, 2001, 12:58 PM
He was flying at the head of a v formation, whilst trying to land on sanctuary rock.....

Lady Rissa
August 13th, 2001, 07:15 AM
Deano, I believe the answer is, "Who is Lady Wratha's lieutenant Goban?" smile.gif

Lagula Longarm
August 13th, 2001, 09:36 PM
Well done Lady Rissa, it was Goban.... smile.gif

Nathan

Lady Rissa

August 20th, 2001, 09:11 PM
Hmmmm.... related to the Freyda Ferenc line huh? I don't remember any other "Ladies" mention of that lineage. Care to give us more of a hint, Vavara? ;) :D

Psykhopaf
August 20th, 2001, 10:11 PM
It wouldn't be that old witch Zindevar Cronesap... ? Wild stabus in the darkus.

Lagula Longarm
August 20th, 2001, 10:44 PM
Ahhhh its that old stabus in the darkus game eh....
How about that old hag(ahem) Karen ;)

Canker
August 20th, 2001, 11:40 PM
I would say no and no on those guesses Creech and deano.
Zindevar was from Turgosheim and would have been descended from the Shaitan line not the Ferenc and Karen was a Sunsider that was taken with Dramal Doomsbody :D

So I'm still lost.

Psykhopaf
August 24th, 2001, 03:27 AM

Its not in The first five books or the Vampire World Trilogy.

Ema
August 24th, 2001, 03:26 PM
?? lol, who in the heck is Derek Stevens? Must be in one of the last 3 then, since I don't remember him in the Lost Books.

Severe mind blanking on this one...

Nathan
January 14th, 2002, 06:49 PM
Derek Stevens? Dunno. I'd have to look it up.

Try this one...

How many women did Harry Keogh bed?

Canker
January 14th, 2002, 07:02 PM

Llamedos
January 14th, 2002, 09:27 PM
Erm.. at a guess 4.

If you want names I'll have to re-read, but

Brenda, Nana, Lady Karen & Wolf woman in Lost year's.

[ January 14, 2002: Message edited by: Llamedos ]

Nathan
January 14th, 2002, 10:25 PM
Four is what I could remember but I had Brenda, Karen, Nana, and Penny.

I thought about Bonnie Jean but couldn't remember if he slept with her... for that matter, I can't really remember him sleeping with Penny!

It's your floor anyway, Llamedos.

Goth Girl
January 15th, 2002, 02:59 AM
And Sandra... the E-Branch spy/ telepath that Janos vampirized...

Llamedos
January 15th, 2002, 12:58 PM
I now remember Penny as well, yes he did, or rather she slept with him initially, as he thought it was a dream, but can't remember Sandra.

A nice and easy one as I can't think of a hard one.

What was the name of the dog that Harry brought back to life.........

[ January 15, 2002: Message edited by: Llamedos ]

Llamedos
January 17th, 2002, 01:03 PM

Hint:- Janos -

Both Harry and Nathan spoke to the owners.

Nathan
January 17th, 2002, 06:05 PM
Paddy? Is that close?

Llamedos
January 17th, 2002, 08:08 PM
As far as I can remember the correct answer is "Paddy".

So take it away N8.

Nathan
January 21st, 2002, 08:20 PM
When Harry talks to the dead, it is called deadspeak. Give me the term for the dead talking amongst themselves...

Llamedos
January 21st, 2002, 08:33 PM
Chatting..........

Canker
January 22nd, 2002, 04:17 AM

Llamedos
January 22nd, 2002, 03:44 PM

Corpse Chat. Deceased Dialogue. Pyre Prattle. Remains Response. Grave Gobble-de-goop.

Easy one here...........

What was Dragonsi doing at the beginning of Necroscope? :D

Lagula Longarm
January 23rd, 2002, 09:55 PM
Dragosani, was a necromancer for Gregor Borrowitz, the Russian's version of E-branch.

Canker
January 24th, 2002, 04:50 AM
Yes he was Deano!

the question is... what was he doing? :D

The Bloody Lady
January 24th, 2002, 03:52 PM
He was necromancing...wasn't he??...

Canker
January 24th, 2002, 05:40 PM

Nathan
February 25th, 2002, 06:30 PM
Two men with the same strange name. Each in the first book of a Necroscope trilogy.

The first is the father of Boris's first.

The second had his name carried on though he had no children.

First name will do. smile.gif Bonus for second names.

Lagula Longarm
March 7th, 2002, 12:25 PM
I don't want to look at the books, as I feel this must be a bit of a trick question....so give us a clue N8, are they Wamphyri ?

Nathan
March 7th, 2002, 06:15 PM
Nope, not Wamphyri...and not a trick question! smile.gif

I tell you this...the second man who had his name carried on though he had no children...his children didn't keep his name for longer than about fourteen to seventeen years.

The first was the father of the girl that Thibor took through Dragosani's body, devirginizing him. :D

Goth Girl
March 8th, 2002, 02:14 AM
Devirginizing... what in hell kinda word is that!! LOL

Gotta be Hzak? as in Kiklu, whose name continued on without actually fathering Nathan and Nestor, and... I can't remember the second guy's surname right now, but his daughter was Ilse..

Umm... not Kovac was it... or am I way off? Trying to do this from memory rather than looking it up!

Nathan
March 8th, 2002, 03:01 AM
I can't actually remember his surname either! But oh well... 'twas the first name I's lookin' for anyhow.

's all you! smile.gif

(And you're right! Devirginize is not in the dictionary! :( There's a local band around here called Buster Cherry though.)

Goth Girl
March 9th, 2002, 09:50 PM
OK... lemme think (can you hear the cogs turning?)...

umm, an easy one for ya... the name of the bully who used to taunt Harry at school, until Harry enlisted 'outside' (or otherside!) help?

Goth Girl
March 19th, 2002, 02:50 AM
Oh come on.... anyone? Harry's school days... his neecroscopic help from Sargeant to beat this bully up...? Need a name people!!

ShadoeWolfe
March 19th, 2002, 02:59 AM
If memory serves, it was a certain Stanley Green?

And I didn't cheat if I'm right... :D

Goth Girl
March 19th, 2002, 03:33 AM
I salute your vast intelligence Oh Lord Wolfe... the floor is yours! ;)

ShadoeWolfe
March 20th, 2002, 04:03 PM
Ok, this one shouldn't be too hard.

What was the name of Nathan's "instructor" while he was with the seer-Lord Maglore? First name will do.

And if you don't know what I mean by "instructor" think along the lines of worldy knowledge. :D

Llamedos
March 20th, 2002, 06:47 PM
There were two there wasn't there???

Instructors.

Of course one was more enjoyable than the other as a learning process. I certainly remember learning one thing, but have no interest in remembering the other. Tee-Hee.

ShadoeWolfe
March 20th, 2002, 07:17 PM
Yes, I am looking for the one with the more enjoyable form of instruction. smile.gif

Nathan
March 21st, 2002, 01:15 AM
Orlea. A Szgany girl who gave herself in the tithe to escape the brutalities of her tribe's leader. Kept by Maglore the mage as a real woman, she is ordered to show Runemanse to Nathan and take away his innocence so there is nothing left for the female thralls. In love with Maglore, Orlea is content in Runemanse, if not happy.

:D

ShadoeWolfe
March 21st, 2002, 02:20 AM
And the floor is now yours Nate... although you could have given a little more info there.... tongue.gif

Canker
March 21st, 2002, 03:40 AM
Yeah Like the fact that she was never vamirized. :D

Nathan
March 21st, 2002, 04:49 AM
...or at least not until after Nathan had flown! When he came back for a peek, however, her eyes were blood!

Give me the name of his other instructor...in the ways of the manse. Y'know, the boring one!

:D

Llamedos
March 21st, 2002, 05:49 PM
Can't remember, damn and blast.

Though if I remember any of it.... He does get turned into a flyer that Nathan rides back over the red waste after escaping from Maglore.

Nathan
March 21st, 2002, 07:03 PM
Close but not quite. You're thinking of Karz Biteri...Maglore's "historian."

This one was a lowly thrall that ended up in the provisioning for telling Nathan a little more than Maglore would have preferred.

But thanks for trying! smile.gif One of the few, the proud... tongue.gif

Llamedos
March 21st, 2002, 08:34 PM
So you mean the one who cleaned up after Maglore, he did'nt really last that long after the inital meeting with Nathan though.

Not that I can remember his name either.

DC 1
March 22nd, 2002, 12:01 AM
Was this Karpath. I seem to remember him showing Nathan around the manse

Nathan
March 22nd, 2002, 01:18 AM
I'll let you go ahead and take it Dark Crystal.

I was looking for Nicolae Seersthrall, but Karpath does fit as well.

So give us a good one...

smile.gif

DC 1
March 24th, 2002, 11:11 AM
OK.

Name the 3 amigos who went looking for vampires and found a monster.

Bonus for the local who guided them

The Bloody Lady
April 3rd, 2002, 03:01 AM
George Vulpe was one...Seth Armstrong....and i can't remember the other or the local!

DC 1

The one you missed was Randy Laverne.
Their guide was one Emil Gogosu.

ok erm

very easy as i can't think of anything else

who was jake avenging?

Goth Girl
April 5th, 2002, 02:22 AM
I was gonna say Seth Armstrong, but I though I was getting Necroscope confused with Emmerdale!

Llamedos
April 5th, 2002, 12:45 PM
Emmerdale, GG what are you like....

If it helps, it was his girlfriend. Who got ravaged by a unparticular group of indivuals and drowned whilst still in the car.

The Bloody Lady
April 5th, 2002, 05:53 PM
oh go on then its all yours llamedos

Goth!......far cry from bettys bit on the side

Llamedos
April 8th, 2002, 01:16 PM
Erm... okay think of a question... why, no, what, no, where, definately not.

Okay, name Nathans adopted sister. On Starside/Sunside.

JB_Lestat
April 9th, 2002, 02:25 AM
Urek Piatra? She died in Bloodwars though...
Maybe Atwei???
Ehhhh!!! I looked... lots about Nana and Misha - but no sister...

I tried!!!! :(

Nathan
April 9th, 2002, 05:07 AM
Urak "Long Life" Piatra was the leader of the leper colony.

Atwei is correct. Nathan's Thyre sister. smile.gif

JB_Lestat
April 9th, 2002, 07:15 AM
I gotta tell ya - I'm a bit sceptical that I got it right.. but if you say so! ;)

Llamedos
April 9th, 2002, 01:58 PM
N8's answered it for me, he must have the books next to his PC.
He always has an answer. Might not be correct, but he always has an answer.

Go JB.

Nathan
April 9th, 2002, 05:31 PM
Actually, I have the answers for that particular book a lot closer than just "right next to my PC."

Atwei. (At-we-ay.) Thyre female who nursed Nathan back to health following his trek across the furnace lands. Became Nathan's aide, dear friend, and Thyre sister during his time with the Thyre. Observing a custom of the Thyre, Atwei gave Nathan a tight coil of her own pubic hair inside a locket on a silver chain. Known among the Thyre as, "Atwei of the Thyre, friend of Nathan."I took a few notes last time I read Bloodbrothers...

:D

JB_Lestat
April 10th, 2002, 01:25 AM
Geeze N8!!! When're you gonna publish all your info for the good of the community????

Okay, here's one:
Who was described as "possibly the world's most nondescript man"?

Goth Girl
April 10th, 2002, 02:25 AM
LOL! I do believe Nate's (and many others) info will be published for the good of the community later this year, in the shape of the Companion!!!

Nathan
April 10th, 2002, 02:48 AM
LOL! Cat's outta the bag now!! I was trying to be subtle! :D

Darcy Clarke is the answer, I believe...

JB_Lestat
April 12th, 2002, 04:46 AM
Well, Nathan the Omnipotent is of course correct again... I was giving others a chance to get it, but inly N8 and GG(on ICQ) gave it a shot! Well, Nathan, your secret is out!! At least now, once we buy the book, we may aspire to be as all-knowing as yourself! ;)

Go at it!!! :D

Nathan
April 12th, 2002, 07:09 PM
Now, now...I'm only all knowing in that one book. :D Or at least only that one Necroscope book! :D The rest of 'em, I'm only partially all knowing. :D

EDIT--You're getting closer to an answer! :D

Anyhow...

There is a boy in The Return of the Deep Ones who might possibly have miraculously escaped his disgusting fate in that particular story to go on to appear in an early Necroscope book or two.

I don't see how that could've happened because the boy's fate was quite decisive, but hey! It could happen! There are no coincidences! He's in both tales! :D

Name the boy...and the man! (They have the same name if you haven't determined that for yerself yet.)

:D

EDIT--ohhhh so close! :D

Okay a hint or two...

The boy from the story was devoured by the thing that guarded the beach near the "country club" in The Return of the Deep Ones...

The man died in the first Necroscope book but continued to help Harry from the grave (as well as Nathan and Jake) throughout the rest of his life.

But you'll not find any more in here. Good luck!! :D

As a matter of fact it is the Sergeant! Graham Lane, to be more specific. smile.gif

I wonder who he is in real life that Brian names two characters for him...?

The spelling is wrong for the real name, but Zante was right:)
