Sry guys I know this is old to most of you but I just finished the series went to the library and got all 3 books and read them straight thru. Of all the possible endings I could imagine that ending never crossed my mind lol thats why he is the master and I'm just a guy that reads them lol. Just wanted to say they were great in the traditional Lumley fashion and wasnt the least bit disappointed. Now I'm going to get the lost years and try it out I think it's the only one I havent read

Old but still fresh. Yeah, that was a real impressive ending - to actually close the whole Wamphri saga(s) in such a definite and statisfying way.

I really enjoyed the lost years when I first read them...I have started from the beginning again with Necroscope and I'm going to try and read them straight through.

I agree about that ending completely. The worst part being: I read the ending first and still got shocked!

I was just sad.
When I finished Avengers, because of the way it ended, I knew there wasn't going to be anymore. It was like losing friends. Seriously, one of the sadest times of my life was when I finished Avengers for the first time.
Don't get me wrong, I loved it. But it just killed me to have it end.

Yeah I know what you mean I've been reading these for about 12 years now. The Necro series and a series by Terry Brooks the Shannara series
are really the only series of books I've read I hate the year or more wait in between lol thats why I got all 3 at the same time. It is like losing a friend or family member. This series of books has brought many many hours of enjoyment to me all I can say now is HEY I NEED THE TEE SHIRT lol I hope the skull from the movie site is featured on one of them I'll have to get a couple.....Silky thats a double x for some of us muscle heads lol

Avengers had a very interesting ending, it surprised me but it was a very nice homage to the story "I Am Legend." I sort of saw it coming as I there was a reference to it by Millie.
"I Am Legend" is supposedly one of the best vampire stories every written, but I didn't feel that way when I finished reading it. It was good and creepy tho. Nothing beats Lumley!

I have a first edition copt of "I am Legend". 1954 baby. It's not as old as My first edition of "The Vampire: his kith and kin" though. 1928. Richard Matheson did great work. But Still, can't hold you like a Lumley.
