he might well have done mate ...when i first thought of doing this as a question, i guessed that maybe the restrictions that apply to the gate as far as calling up a door, was concerned would also apply to it being attempted underwater....for myself i can only ask questions on the first five books and well when reading the part where it mentioned it was never attempted before i thought id throw it in here.

ok, easy one.
name all the characters in the series.
just kidding.
what was Thibor's coat of arms?....BUT!
this is way to easy, so, i want the discription as discribed in the book...AND, where or how did it originate?
skinters
April 12th, 2005, 07:20 PM
alright heres my go at it .
thibor`s banner was the bat atop a dragon.
the dragon belonged to prince vladimir, and was given to thibor when he was sent to battle with the pechenegi .after he returned with a thousand pechenegi thumbs the banner had changed with the black bat of the wallachs riding the dragon .i think the banner was just the bat riding the dragon and thibor had set faethors head atop of his banner hence the devil being etched into his final coat of arms.
im a lil confused how the devil was incorperated into the coat of arms at thibor`s burial site ....wasnt it etched into the stone by the sganzy?
and then that being his final coat of arms ? the devil atop with the bat riding the dragon .
anyways a bit long winded my answer so ill leave it for who ever to fill in the gaps and maybe make a better job of it ;)

Clue (and trying not to give anything away to those who haven't read this series yet): The legislation is an Act of UK law of which there is no criminal equivilent on the US statutes (at least not the last time I checked) - and in response the Act is likened to something we are thankfully only exposed to once a year...

Nope. The closest I could get was when CMI barged into E-Branch, but Trask was with Nathan and there was no censure, cept for Goodly telling the head officer that the Official Secrets Act was peanuts compared to what they must now follow. Pre-frontal lobotomies were mentioned.

I'm don't know if they'll let the question stand or not, Teri, techincally when he said next question please, it wasn't an all around the board thing it was actually a way of signifying that it's Helm's turn to put up a question as he got it correct. The way this works is that the person who gets the question right gets to ask the next question. Unless they changed it, as I've been away from the boards a bit too much of late! And, I don't think anyone will be biting your head off for this, you said yourself you're new. My method with threads I'm unfamiliar with is usually to look at the first page and see if it gives instructions. Like this page sends it over to the previous Necroknowledge page which gives the rules of how the game works. So, a word of advice is, if the thread is new to you, look at the beginning, especailly on the games and things. Make sure you know what's going on.

Guy Roberts.
Why? Well, the chap was a tobacco addict, and (according to Gower) he stank of "bloody weed" when he was awake.
"Anyway, let old Roberts kip. He’s tired and when he’s awake the place stinks of bloody weed! I’ve seen him with three going at once! God, you need a respirator!’"

How did Bruce Trennier become a vampire and how did he die?

he was turned by Malinari in the sump

Well, Malinari recruited Trennier in the sump, but he did sure as hell not kill him :D
I don't really know how you guys deal with a situation like this (when someone's got the first half of the answer, but not the rest of it), so I'll just assume that it's still up for grabs. (Correct me if this is not the correct procedure)

what are the Perchorsk "encounters" and what was the outcome of each one?
Tchernobog
May 21st, 2005, 03:41 AM
Well, the first one was when a warrior came through the portal. I don't know how it got out of the base, but it was shot down by some American fighter planes when it entered American airspace after leaving Perchorsk. [The Source]
The second one was when a Wamphyri (probably a lieutenant) came through. He was killed by a bunch of soldiers armed with flamethrowers. [The Source]
The third one was when that guy (whose name I've forgotten) came back from Sunside/Starside after having been turned into a monster by one of the Wamphyri Lords (Shaitis?). Some chap used the newly installed defense system to blow him up along with some other guy. [The Source]
Aaaand the fourth encounter was when Nathan came through.. He was held as a prisoner by the Ruskies, but escaped. [The Last Aerie]
Ugh, I'm sure that I've forgotten/left out a few.. Especially since I'm just up to TLY Vol. 2 at the time of writing.

Aah, of course.. My memory is not what it used to be..
Anyway, I think that I've got one more, but I'm drawing a blank on last one (#3 or 4).
There was this one 'encounter' where they actually managed to capture a creature (IIRC, it tried to hide in a hole, but ended up being captured). They put it in a tank and set a scientist to study it.. The creature managed to infect the scientist by giving him its egg. And the rest... that's history ;)

what were Doombody's reasons for giving his egg to the Lady Karen??
Tchernobog
June 4th, 2005, 10:53 PM
Hum, I think that Dramal Doombody gave it to his heir (Karen) when he knew that he was just about to face his demise. Why? Well, Doombody contracted leprosity when he copulated with a female leper.
He fought it for a while (500 years or so), but since he had to spend all his energy on fighting the disease, his aerie went into disrepair. He was afraid of dying (either of the disease or by having his servants kill him off and flee from the pesthole he called his aerie. So, he thought that he'd give his egg to someone who wasn't a member of the band of would-be traitors that surrounded him. He found a fitting Szganzy youth, Karen Sisclu, and transferred his egg to her through a kiss after having taught her everything she needed to know to be a Wamphyri Lady.

A place in the Urals where a certain Wamphyri sprang forth... In fact the place was named after the event and since to escape from this side's gate (much much older then Perchorsk's) the banished ones had to endure a speleologiset's nightmare - water running through a break in the rocks barely wide enough to fit through and with no possibility for air for a long period of time...

Jake Cutter had a serious problem with a man by the name of Luigi Castellano for his connections to someone whom Jake meets in a bar. Who was the person Jake met, what was the connection to Castellano, and what became of this person?
---
That there, I apologize for the slight delay in getting it up. But I had to myself go back and make sure I had it all right before I posted it, and while that would have been such a problem. I was recently modded at my other discussion forum and the head admin kinda dumped a bit of work on me, and my friends much be like phsychic becuase I swear when I finally got a free moment to try and look for a question my friend Andrew calls and has my attention for like 3 hours and seeing as the boy called from Australia, it's not something he does often so I take full advantage of the times he does call.
Now, I am not out of the fold. I've been in and out of here, reading but like I said. Recently tossed into a mod position and I had stuff to organize so I didn't really have the time to come in and be active here. (As a note: Melkor, I didn't mean to come off bitchy at you earlier, it's a side effect of stress and being something that if I saw on my other board I'd be required to correct given my position. No harm meant, I promise.)
And Canker, I don't see what there is to be so astounded about. I knew the answer to that one when I looked at the questioin, I just wasn't completely certian, but too lazy to go get the book and check because those are at the bottom of the box of books I'm taking to college with me (yeah Amy is not going 107 miles away from home without her Lumley books!)

No, Canker lost his one during flight from Turgosheim, but he had it when they left. Gorvi is later mentioned as the one not having the warrior, and there is no mention that he lost one like Canker.
So ichbinwamyri got it right.

I believe it was a trog the Lady Karen threw off her aerie and i don't think she had a name.
all others either died at the garden or were sent away, but the trog only knew her home, karens aerie, so returned there where she released karen from the chains, then died, the rest....history
