After reading a topic from a while ago it seemed evryone wanted to know more about Harry's son, The Dweller, I do too  . So I was just wondering if anyone knows of people who had made a story of the dweller in starside and put it on a website or something. I know its pointless reading one but it would keep me occupied and keep the people who make it occupied. Obviously you'd have to ask Brian if he'd let you, but I can't see why he'd disagree with it...

I even have the perfect beginning for the prologue:
"The Dweller or Harry jnr as he was known in another distant world awoke screaming in his dark grave feeling his mind being literally split in two, temporarily albeit..."

Basically The Dweller has just been decapitated and the moment he died his two minds (wolf and human/wamphyri) try to seperate themselves. Then the rest of the book is about him remembering his life and trying to merge with his wolf mind to remember the last bit. Might sound boring but we'll get to know about him and maybe about the time travelling he can do???

However, if nobady seizes this idea then nobody may ever know... lol. (By the way, I know this idea isnt exactly original, but... oh well)

While a lovely idea, I like it. I don't think Mr. Lumley wants us doing fanfiction of his work. But hey, if it makes you feel any better about coming up with fanfic ideas: a few years ago I came up with all the outline and schematics of a perfect Necroscope/DBZ crossover fic. I never actually wrote it as it kind of got burried in the confines of a computer disk that was then lost and didn't resurface until a while ago. Of course I have no idea from whence it all came but well. At the idea it must have seemed fun. But, hey, you get Lumley's permission to write your story and then go for it. Ha! You write it and I'll even be so nice as to play editor for you. JUST MAKE SURE YOU GET PERMISSION. Or else you could end up in LOTS of trouble and that would be a bad thing.

lol, you know what I might actually ask him and do it... but I'm sort of new to this messageboard. Does Brian have an e-mail address or anything I can get to him at?

Actually yes. And it's here in the site. I've used it and he's very nice, make sure to follow the rules though. When asking questions they always want you to go to the FAQ page first to make sure it's not there. You'll find the FAQ page on the top bar, the same one you click on to get to the messageboard. It should be the second thing. Then in order to contact Mr. Lumley you want to go to the side bars (Under the skull. You want to place your mouse ocver the first block: BIO. From there you get an options list and you're looking for the CONTACT option. MAKE SURE TO READ THE RULES AND FOLLOW THEM! From there after the rules is another button, You'll want the button labeled Brian, that when you click on it will cause a window to open that will allow you to email Mr. Lumley.
As a side note for you so that you know. The button for Silky gets you to Silky and the others are the mods here at the message board. If you ever need to contact one of them (I'm assuming you're a free account holder, thus you don't have private messaging) if you ever need to get a hold of one them that's how you do. I wouldn't recommend just randomingly bothering them though as they actually have lives.
And don't worry. Being new isn't exactly a bad thing. I've only been here since late December. I just spend too much time wandering around, and I'm not sure I even know how it all works! But don't worry Mal. Have fun, and hey, if you ever need to, well feel free to talk to me. I'll be glad to offer you whatever help I'm capable of. And I don't know if you've gone and put up a welcome statement, but well.. new or not I'm glad to have you here. You're my kind of person, a fanfic nut. And that's OKAY.
Allright. Shutting up now. So you go ask your question and work on your story if he gives you the go ahead. Assuming he does give it to you though, I want to see it, if it's not too much trouble!

I have to say, when emailing Brian, using the FAQ page is a very good idea, mainly because he gets asked lots of the same questions, and so lot of them are stored there with answers.

He's always happy to answer emails, but do follow the rules - as you can imaging - he gets lots of emails.

The emails addresses can be found here:

The Dweller huh?

I bet that ould be a novel in itself!
All of the Olden Wamphryi knew of him and either feared or respected him.
But why is that?
Other than 1 or two quick scouting missions by the Wamphryi, I do not remember "The Source" getting into much of the Dwellers past experiences with them.

Could be quite interesting. grin.gif

Yeah, I'd love to read more about The Dweller in any way shape or form. Preferably by Brian, but I'd enjoy fanfiction too.

Doubt it... he's been hearing this more Dweller/more Starside/more Nathan thing for years. Like since before the E-branch trilogy. You see how little of the Starside story is told in those...

I think The Lost Years books are the last major tales we'll hear of Starside or its inhabitants and history.

But you never know!!
