right this is to make sure im on the right track, ive jus started deadspawn, which if i understand it right is the last book in the original series.
so would below be the correct order to read the rest ?

Blood brothers
The last aerie
Blood wars
Invaders
Defilers
Avengers

ok as youve noticed ive left out the lost years .now i know the lost years were done by brian to fill in the gap in the chronology between Wamphyri and the Source ,and i dont want to leave them out,but wanted to know how they fit in with the others as a whole and does it work.

im thinking would i be better reading the lost years before i start blood brothers jus to tie things up as i really dont want to leave them out ,but thinking i dont know if i could go back to them after avengers .

It's a matter of choice really at this point. If you're going for Chronology you're a bit off but could probably still read them following deadspawn and be okay. However in publication they come later... Personally I can't help you too much on where those go as I never got into Lost years like the others and just couldn't keep with it. (Okay then again I read them as I got them and they were the last thing I got before Avengers came out so by the time I'd got to them I'd not only read Vamp. World but aslo the first two of E-branch and I was off so far that they just didn't interest me.)
Look at it this way, You're in love with theese books now are't you? So read them the way that seems most logical to you, then next time read them the other way if it doesn't work out for you like you want... Eventually you'll figure out the perfect order for waht you personally like on these books...

well for me i dont think it would make much sense to read them in any old order espeicially where the first five are concerned, and as ive started from the first 1 i just wanted to read them in the order they were intended.

the lost years were written around the time brian wrote blood brothers so those picking up the necroscope story when they first came out would not have been able to fit the lost years inbetween Wamphyri and source for instance .so for example if someone was to start necroscope for the very first time could they then read em like this

necroscope
Wamphyri
the lost years
source
deadspeak
deadspawn

sd the thread you refer to How do you read yours, was started by me jus to ask how you settle down to read your book, not in what order you read em ;)

no big deal guys just wanted to hear your views on it, coz i know a lot of brians readers didnt start from the first necroscope.so im just looking to read em in the order they were intended .

thx ;)

yeah there is indeed i sit corrected grin.gif
im jus gonna go right on with blood brothers, after deadspawn ....no wait lost years awwww shit i cant decide ha haaa

no serious im gonna read right through to avengers then get started on brians other works .....then in about 10 years time after ive finished, ill go back to necroscope and put the lost years in between wamphyri and source ....sorted ;)

Hum, I'm currently reading Bloodwars (100 pages left) for the first time, and I think that I'll read the rest of the books in chronological order.. The Lost Years duology was published before the E-Branch trilogy, so.. yeah... I'll be reading them in order of publication.

Hep hep.

You're fine there Skints I think. Heh, I don't know that it'll be ten years. I've had four or five and I'm chomping at the bit to get back into my Necro books... Course you may have more willpower than me.. or just be able to actually buy the others. I'm currently at the mercy of my personal budget and my granmother's pity (which is nonexistant as the newest Potter book somes out this summer and we've got to get that...) Sooner or later I'll appeal to my mother that I need books to take with me to college... or I could just make a list and tell my dad to get them for me for graduation. Hahaha! Course if I did that he'd read them before giving them to me...
Hey Skints at least you got your head on straight.

I would highly recomend that you read them in the order they were published as some of the things in The Lost Years wont make sense if you have'nt read the Vampire World trilogy first.

Also you need to read The Lost Years before the E-Branch books as again some little things wont add up and the plot wont un ravel as smoothley as it should.

They make better sense that way and your not getting ahead of your self plus I think that they were really intended to be read in that order the first time otherwise you'd just end up with bits of info and nothing to connect it up until you've finished and then it wouldn't have the same impact.

It would be like reading The Goblet of Fire before The Prisoner of Azkaban, and knowing that Sirius black was a goodie and totaly ruining the end of Azkaban because it wouldn't have the same impact on you because your not suprised.

But it's up to you Skinters do what you like matey but always remember that if you do it another way and are slightly dissapointed......well all I'll say is, I told you so

I agree, read them in the order that they have been published.

It would be pointless finding out Darth Vader was Luke's dad straight away (we'd not get any of the other films!!).

This is a rarety, Helm we agree!

I read em in that order the first time around and though I've also read them in the chronological order I personally think it works much better in the order they were published.
