Is anyone on this forum a long-dead mathematician? No, oh well... I'm going through my first re-read of The Necroscope Seies(es). The first time I just read through it all without worrying about the small amount of maths in it. This time however, I have all the time in the world.
I know Necroscope is just a book and that, as far as I know, there is no mobius continuim. But I still understand it in the book. Well, now I'm stuck because I got to the point where the Dweller is talking about time travel. I just cannot understand what is trying to be said. Again, I know it is NOT real but have still tried to look up the bottle and still cant make any sense of it. Surely someone must have a clue what I'm rambling on about and might be able to explain...

Thanks.

I believe Brian has written some stuff on this in previous Newsletters. Try looking at past issues and see if owt there helps as well.

THIS LINK (http://www.brianlumley.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=28;t=000020) probably won't answer that particular question, but you might like to read it...

Phill? Care to field this question? Thought sure you'd've done it by now!

Ok Malinari I'll try explain it how I see it, Harry uses pure math as a wizard or magician would use incantations but his "spells" open a doorway to the Mobius Continuum, a place outside of our solid universe where the laws of physics and time dont apply (such a place doesnt exist ? Ask Steven Hawkins) whilst in the Continuum it is possible to travel forward or back in time and look out but not participate in events that have occured or will occur, travel from one location to another is possible in real time much like the teleportation pods used in The Fly (or Simpsons), The way Mr Lumley describes it can be quite confusing with phrases like "it is both everywhere and nowhere" but I think this is to give us an appreciation of how innaccessible and utterly alien it is to our way of thinking, thoughts have weight ! You Know when youve been drinking Absinthe ! Fruity ? Yes, hope that helps your understanding a bit.
