Just wanted to clear up any mispronunciations (if any) that I've been using for character/place names in these books:
Keogh- "KEY-oh"? This isn't a very common name in the US. Never heard of it before the Necroscope, at any rate.
Szgany- "ZZ-gahnee"?
Turgosheim- "TURGO-shime" or is it "TURGOS-hime"?
Zek's last name: "FOH-ner" or "FAY-ner"?
and finally, is it
"WAHM-fearee" or "VAHM-fearee"? I lean towards the latter given that most Romantic tongues pronounce W's like V's.
Thanks for any and all help, and I will read what I will read.

Indiscations on how to pronounce Keogh and Wamphyri are in the FAQs (see top of each page on the site)...
As for the others in my head they are pronounced...
Szgany - zzGah'nee (zz being half-way between a hard Z and a soft G)
Turgosheim - as its spelt (sh sound n the middle)
and as for Zek - Foh-enner
But that's just in my head so what do I know? lol

The one thing I don't really understand, is why for book 2 in the UK it's spelt Wamphyri and the US it's Vamphyri. Was there some kind of confusion between the spelling and the pronunciation in the states?

From the FAQ:
11. HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE WAMPHYRI:
"Vam" as in vampire -- "phyr" as in fear -- and "i" as in eek! Vam-fear-ee, with a hissed, slightly extended emphasis on the fear bit!
12. HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE KEOGH?
"Ke" as in key, and "ogh" as in oh. Key-oh.
I would assume that Vamphyri had to do with marketing. Someone browsing the bookshelves with the vampire craze going on would be more familar with Vamphyri than a weird looking word like Wamphyri and more likely pick it up. But since Vamphyri does appear in the books, along with variants and since it is pronounced with the V sound I don't see it as that big of a deal and does kind of make sense for the US market ... kind of.
