Necroscope
By Brian Lumley
(Preorder -- not yet published)
Illustrated by Bob Eggleton
Limited: $125
Lettered: $300
We're proud to announce a new addition to the Subterranean Press Signature Series of Deluxe Limited Editions.
Necroscope is one of the most popular vampire novels of the past twenty years, spawning more than a dozen sequels, and establishing Brian Lumley as a master of edge of your seat, fast-paced horror.
We've commissioned none other than Bob Eggleton to illustrate the definitive edition of Necroscope.
Here's what Bob has planned for our edition:
A full-color, wraparound dust jacket
Ten full-page black and white interior illustrations
Four full-color interior illustrations
One full-color gatefold (pull-out) interior illustration
Black and white endsheets
Assorted black and white vignette and spot illustrations
And those are just for the Deluxe Limited Edition.
Each copy of the Lettered Edition will also have an original, one-of-a-kind Necroscope "skull" illustration by Bob on the title page.
Limited Edition: 500 numbered copies, signed by both author and artist, slipcased.
Lettered Edition: Only 26 traycased, copies, leatherbound, with an original Necroscope skull sketch.

Just wanted to know if the pricing is in pounds or dollars ?
And if in pounds, does anyone know where i could find a conversion rate website, where it shows the conversion from pounds into Aussie dollars ?
And will there be additional charges for shipping overseas ?

Thought I would add that I have placed an order for a Lettered edition. Once it arrives, it will be the only Lumley hardcover I have. Sad, I know. I've only ever seen one and it was Deadspeak, I think. I like to start at the beginning, so I left it lie on the shelf.
Is there any way to tell how many of these have been pre-sold to date? I didn't even look at the date for this topic until after I'd already paid for the book. It surpised me to see that the thing had been in the works for over a year already and still wasn't sold out.
Shame really. If only there was a movie to wake up the mortals.

Damn, thats great news! I can't wait to see it!
Howdy to everyone by the way, been a member for a couple years, but I am quiet by nature so I don't post. But the thought of possibly having this in my hands in the next few months is exciting.
CGGorman, when this was originally announced, there were only 26 lettered books to be printed, but that has since been upped to 52. I imagine that the original 26 sold out pretty quick and they decided to up it to 52. I was pretty irritated when I found out (months later) that the number of lettered books being produced had doubled (ordered mine the day it was originally anounced), but I guess as long as Brian gets a bigger cut due to that, then I am all for it.

My, oh, my, what a wonderful day.
Plenty of Lumley headin' my way,
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay!
It's shipping!!!
Just got a news letter from Subterranean Press that the $75 version is shipping today, and the slipcased version will ship in about another month, and the lettered version a little while after that! I haven't been this excited (Yes, I was happy when I bought all of my Lumley books) since I received my copy of Sixteen Sucking Stories!
Of course I am so weak that I had to buy all 3 versions!
The newsletter also stated that the corrected versions of Screaming Science Fiction have been shipped as well. That was a fast turn around! No word on when the Lettered version is shipping though.
Almost forgot, the final book of the Dreamlands series should be shipping within a few weeks as well!

I am in the minortiy it seems but I was not happy with the Lettered edition at all. It was nothing like what I had expected. When I pre ordered and pre paid for this book over 21 months ago, it was limited to 26 copies. Now it is 52 copies and I feel the overall quality of the book is poor. I had High hopes, unfortunately, none of those were met. Got an awful High number for that long of a wait, I would hate to think how long those of you who got one of the first 23 had to wait.
I am glad for those of you that are happy with the edition, Just not what I expected.

Well I got mine 2 days ago but was not home to see it until today. I got the 'C' copy. The interior illustrations are awesome. I had no idea what to expect since I've never owned a "lettered edition" of a book before, but I'm pleased with it. Seeing the illustrations makes me want to read it again for the umpteenth time, so that's just what I'm going to do. I was actually hoping to get a bigger hand-drawn illustration from Bob Eggleton . . . but believe me, I'll take the one he drew. It's definitely going onto my "special" shelf. :D

Got mine this past Saturday. Letter PP.
I'm slightly disappointed as well. Showed it to a friend of mine that collects rare and limited edition works like this and he seems to think it's a really nice edition for the price. That makes me feel better. Since this is my very first collectible book, I wasn't sure what to expect, but after such a long wait, I suppose one builds up an unreasonable expectation.
Regardless, I count myself fortunate to be among the 52 with a lettered copy of one the greatest horror books ever penned. It will hold a place of honour in my library of other collectibles.

Not any more.;)
Mum's the word though. I haven't told Brian.
Reason for this, well first off ... I think the "L" should be Brian's.
Secondly, I managed to snag an "S" out of it for myself but we only got two PC copies, so that left Brian with no lettered. Now he has one.
Considering that they sold for $300.00 I don't think he'll mind, she says with her fingers crossed...
I'll have to wait until he's in an extremely good mood before I tell him.

Well, I told him and he's chuffed to bits! I'm having it shipped to my mothers in the States and then I'll pick it up over there when we do WHC in Toronto.
Yeah!

Help out a Yankee.... Is being "chuffed to bits" a good thing or a bad thing?
