If Nestor didnt become Whamphyri?

Look I know the story couldnt be with out Nestor becomming Whamphyri and Nathan was the ABSOLUTLY right choice to become the Necroscope..... BUT, I couldnt help feeling several times through the vamp world series, that Nestor could have been better than Harry Snr, Harry Jnr and Nathan, I cant say y.... What do u think?
