Am I the only one that feels the Subscription system is quite conviluted and un intuitive?
I am fully aware of the reasoning behind the subscription but many of the aspects are a complete over kill, such as no web mail? why not? surly if ewb mail is good enough for Ebay and Amazon it should be here?
Im not having a go at Shadoe's system but it has put me off of joining the elite subscription system for years (although I did just fold on that front and subscribed this morning). How many other people would be paying there $10 if the subscription system was easier?

There's been issues with 'undesirables' using dodgy web mails to log in and cause trouble.
It's the old story unfortunately, a few bad apples ruining a barrel...
Glad you folded though, old-timer (heh heh!)

Maybe Im missing the point, other than e-bay and O/U sites this is the only site Ive ever subscribed to, $10.00 is chicken feed in anyones language and well worth it for the chance of chatting to other Lumlians and also found it dead easy to sort the subscription (thanx GG), simply put if I can figure it any body can. OI CANT READ AND OI CANT WROITE BUT OI CAN DROIVE A TRAAACTOR ! OO AR.

Oddly enough, when I first attempted to join the script would not accept my admin email addy from my web site, which isn’t a web-mail client. Also, being a carnivore of books in general, and having a great many authors I find admirable—I would like to spend the membership costs for all of them—but would soon find myself eating Alpo from the can and huffing paint from bags as my new escapism. Still, perhaps…since he is on my top 10 list of authors?
Perhaps I might make an exception :}

I am looking into making it a bit easier as the rules were originally setup when there were no 'free' areas to the forum. Now that that has changed and there are seperate areas of access, the rules might be modified.
And just so it's been said - I haven't turned down anyone in the past year (if not more) that has used a webmail account - so even though it is stated in the rules, I still have been very lenient.
Look for all kinds of changes once we move away from this cgi board to database driven. grin.gif
