Custom Avatars?

As a member of several boards, I have become accustomed to the ability to upload my own avatar. Some boards even encourage seasonal changes...just for fun...like a skull with a santa hat for Christmas or a green derby for St. Patty's day.

Is this feature possible on this board? I was searching for an avatar among the ones in the listing, but none of them seem to jump out and scream "ME!!"...

If I remember correctly you can link to an avatar graphic on another site if you want to... it's been a while since I looked at this!

have a look and come back, if you're having trouble I could host it for you elsewhere!!!!

I was wondering about this as well. I do not see anything about linking an avatar in the profile settings.

If you go into edit your profile, you can go under 'select a different avatar image' and there is a space where you can fill in a URL to your own custom avatar. I can't remember off the top of my head but I believe there are size restrictions. I believe it forces whatever image you select intoa 48x48 size. Hope this helps. smile.gif

When I click on 'select a different avatar image' I get a pop up window that has on the left the avatar image and buttons that say 'select this avatar', 'no avatar', and 'cancel'. On the right are the picture of avatars. I don't see any place for an URL, though maybe I am missing something obvious. It has been known to happen. smile.gif

Ok - two things:

If you can grab a screen shot of what you are seeing when you click the link and the window pops up to send to me, that would be great so I could see what you're seeing. The custom URL field should be at the bottom, right above the copyright info.

If you can't do that, you can email me the avatar you want to use and I can place it in the directory it needs to go so that it is available in the gallery of images. Someone else might use it that way, but it is a sure way for you to get the one you want.

I emailed you a screenshot. I am not seeing a URL field in the window.

I don't have any certain avatar in mind at the moment. I was just letting the creative juices flow and if I came up with something it would be nice to have the option to use it on the message board.
