Heh heh , yes, started it up again Nathan, especially after getting into the Dreamland Series.. which the Q's I have is based on...second book...
This is from another thread (forgets which one) that I seem to remember GG & maybe Jase & Tops talking about and I finally got it!!
Q: What was the Legless Firefly accused of? :-D
Also.... Who or what was the Curator? And what did the 2 Adventurer's (Hero & Eldin) do to get him so angry?
Heh heh.. Love this series!! Also got a few on the Ships/Captains... but can't remember where Erik posted those either.. and only one full ship/cap the other.. never mind..lol Save that for another day!

You know there's a standing Hero question (answer?) in Lumlian Jeopary? I asked it just for you... smile.gif
I don't know the answer to your question(s)...I'll have to look them up if no one else gets them. (But I think all the answers are in Lumlian Knowledge III. :D EDIT--in response to Ema's post below...I'm not completely sure which thread it's in. :D)

OK, trying to think about this one... something not to horrible!
Name the first Arkham House collectin Brian was published in, and name the two stories that appeared in said collection.
(that's nearly as harsh as the one I just posted in Necro Knowledge VEEE - probably more so)
I'll give you a clue in a couple of days.

was it 'tales of the cthulhu mythos'?... the stories - the sister city & cement surroundings. I know this book, but am unsure whether there was another book or two prior to it.

February 9th, 2003, 02:29 PM
you're good Ancient1... I thought that was a hard question. But you're right on every count...
There were a couple of Arkham Collectors printed before that, but in the sense of a collection, they didn't fit as they were pamphlets. Numbers 3 & 4 and as far as I know were the first publications of any Lumley work. The Cypress Shell was the first printed story by Arkahm house in 1968, in The Arkham Collector number 3.
Over to you!

Cheers Tops .... a similar question -
Which two of Brians stories appeared in the books THE DISCIPLES OF CTHULHU and NEW TALES OF THE CTHULHU MYTHOS ... and can you name the editors of both Anthologies?
Pretty easy if you have the books ... if not, good luck.... ;)

Guys ... Don't really know if I can give any clues - without giving the answers!
Anyway, one of the stories later became the title story of one of the Masters collections....
Is that abit of a clue?
If not I reckon its over to Tops to give the answer me thinks... tongue.gif
Nathan
February 14th, 2003, 06:29 PM
Well, I can tell you that The Sister City and Cement Surroundings were featured in Tales of the Cthulhu Mythos, and that it's edited by August Derleth, but my copy doesn't say the New Tales of the...
...and I don't have "Disciples", so...

Nate,
Arkham House released an other anthology called New Tales of the Cthulhu Mythos, which was edited by Ramsey Campbell, and contained (if memory serves me) The Second Wish. This anthoogy was dedicated to the memory of August Derleth, editor extraodinaire, and if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't be chatting about Mr Lumley now.
Disciples of Cthulhu was edited by Edward P Berglund (spelling?), it contained The Fairgournd Horror, I think.
Don't have access to my books here at work, so this is mostly guess work!!!!

February 15th, 2003, 12:59 AM
and now for a question... this one should be pretty easy, well compared to the last couple...
Who first published Elysia? and in which year / country.
Good luck.

If memory serves that would've been W Paul Ganley, which makes the country the US... as for year - have to take a guess here - late eighties - '89?

Either I only make sense to myself or you read my post wrong. Or maybe I've missed a collection somewhere!?!? :(
No, I meant that I pretty much knew my answer was wrong because there is no anthology called either Cement Surroundings or The Sister City.
