Thone technology...Mobius Continuum?
Taken from Maze of Worlds (The House of Doors: Second Visit)...The group had just fallen through yet another door in The House of Doors...
Fred Stannersly still hadn't moved. Gill went to him, said, "Fred, what's up?"
The other looked at him. "It's my spatial thing," he whispered. "I'm just trying to get it nailed down. That fall of ours. It was weird."
"You mean you couldn't figure out the time? Me neither. It went on forever, but it didn't."
Fred nodded, gulped, said, "Something like that. I felt we were falling through some weird places, Spencer. Or rather, no place at all!" This thing of mine: it isn't claustrophobia, agoraphobia, or any phobia you can stick a name on. I suppose I'm just very much aware of our three mundane dimensions. And what we've been through wasn't any of them."
Sound familiar? Can you name some other similarities among the different works of the Man? smile.gif

Great topic...
Well, aside from the obvious - ie folks with talents - I suppose for me the biggest shared theme in his books isn't so much in the content as the style...
The grandeur is astounding - From the cycling of the Cthulhu Mythos, to the biblical proportions of the Necroscope Saga... The Godhead in the Psychomechs to Armageddon in Demogorgon...
The way he can make a small story huge - and still show the minutia in the small stories...
Probably doesn't really tie in with what you posted, Nathan, but once I've started! tongue.gif

Actually Pybob, those are exactly the type of things I'm looking for...only more specifically. You've only helped me to explain what I meant! Thanks! smile.gif
Another one I think I've mentioned elsewhere is Zura of Zura...She was constantly waiting for people to die and join her army. Now Harry wasn't exactly hoping for additions to the Great Majority, but they sure got him out of a few jams! smile.gif

Hmmmmm...maybe. I was careful not to put plot spoilers in there but I guess someone might come along and do it...feel free to move it if you'd like...I don't have the power. :(

Good topic Nathan.
I think that at the end of Demogorgan when Charlie Trace calls on his father to take revenge on the Gangsters who had just battered him, their cars just disappear into the void.
From re-reading it, it does seem to hint at the Mobius Continuum that appeared in the Necro books.

Good one, Jase...I vaguely remember that now that you bring it up. (Note to self...reread Demogorgon as well.)
How about Sanctuary Rock? Does that remind anyone of something?
With me it was the wrong way around. I read Spawn of the Winds and was reminded of Sanctuary Rock by the Plateau...but I realize it should have been the other way around. smile.gif

In Psychomech, Thomas Schroeder talking about reincarnation. He said something about coming back in his son's body and sharing his mind, or sharing Richard Garrison's mind.....sound familiar?
Harry & Harry Jr, or maybe even Faethor "sharing" Harry's mind a time or two.

Yeah...and don't forget the most recent one...Jake and Korath. smile.gif
Reading through the House of Doors books recently, I notice a similarity in the relationship between Gill and Turnbull to that of Lardis and Andrei Romani.
You don't see it as much with them because they weren't as much main characters in the Vampire World books, but the way they are each smart in their own ways and tend to feed off of each other in problem-solving situations...Just like Turnbull, Andrei seems to be somewhat of a lumbering oaf but in crunch time he knows what to do and even surprises the other with his simple approach...

Anyone notice a similarity in Carstair's plan for Titus Crow in The Lord of the Worms and those of the Ass Man (can't remember his name...Giogios?) for Charlie Trace?
How 'bout Carstair's method of control? Addictive wine and hypnotism? Sound farmiliar?

Although two very different characters, i especially like the way both Zura and Lathi deal with their men... keeping them as mindless automatrons!
