I love Neil Gaiman, and I know Brians a very good friend as well. Very funny. I liked that a lot. I'm currently getting through Sandman at the moment. Absolutely brilliant. Gaiman is one of the greats. I'd recommend him to anyone on this board.

Yeh I like his stuff as well, American Gods was a cracking read.... I have to say I haven't read any of his comics, but Sandman is one I'd like to take a look at...

Sandman is great. A nice big read too. Cracking imagination at work. A big investment though. There are ten books in the series. I'm doing it book at a time, picking up special reduced offers for buying multiple books from amazon as I go. Some great horror in it too.
I did stall with American Gods mainly as I was in the process of moving home. I'll give it another go once I've got through the Hero and Eldin stuff, Dark Tower 4 and 5, E branch Defilers and Avengers, Sandman AArgghh!!!. Too much input pzzztttzzzztzz!!!!

Man, you've got some great reading ahead of you! DT IV and V, Avengers! I'm excited for you...
I haven't tried the Sandman stuff yet but Neverwhere was good. American Gods didn't hold me very well either but there are some great passages of writing and very profound (IMO) pieces of dialogue and thought processes throughout.

Have to agree that neverwhere is awesome. i actually caught the BBC series (which was writen by Gaimen and Lenny Henry as the novel was being written) and was hooked from the offing. does make living in London a paranoia filled experience tho. or i might just be insane....

The wolves in the walls is ace too. Wolves wearing socks and eating marmalade does it for me.

Phew at least I'm not the only person who has only just got around to reading Hero and Eldin. Dark tower 4 and 5 are fantastic btw! Really must finish off my re-read of the Necroscope series as I'm really looking forward to re-reading Invaders, Defilers and Avenger. smile.gif

I'm doing some illustrations for delirium press editions of the five Hero of Dreams books at the moment. One down four to go. Should have all five done in time for the Con. Hopefully I can get them collected together as signed prints to give away in the raffle. They are a good fun read, very much like RE Howard. Brian writes fantastic action stuff.
I am loving Wizard and Glass and I can't wait to find out about Callaghan after the Lot. Salem's Lot is my all time favourite vampire story. I want a proper sequel. Sound of a petulant wookie stamping his footsie.

I guess you could call 'Calla' a sequel of sorts, but it's not, not really.
Go into it lookin' like that and your mind's gonna be blown for sure!
Bring on 'Susannah'!!

Have no worries, I have no set expectations of the Dark Tower series. It's always suprising me.

Wolves was great, I had it for some time before reading it. I am glad King has the Darktower series as when I read the new tower books it reminds me what made him so great in the first place. His other stuff has really been subpar lately in my opinion. There is a television series here in the states that he created called Kingdom Hospital, it is about an artist who gets hit by a van and gets put into a strange haunted hospital....I really wanted to like it, but it just doesn't do it for me.
