For those of you who might have been having trouble printing off the crossword puzzle from the current issue of the Newsletter, I think I have a solution for you.

I saved the image into a PDF (Adobe Acrobat) file and now it should all fit onto one page that is readable and usable.

Just go back into the newsletter and click on the image and that will take you to the correct file - or open it up in your browser to print from there. Hope this fixes everyone's problem if they were having it.

Thanks Shadoe... would it help if I provided future crosswords to you as a PDF? Bearing in mind they would be generated on a Mac... I don't know if that would help or just make things worse, LOL!

Just to say that I know someone who won't touch PCs and we've never had any issues with exchanging PDFs...

Debs,

That would be great. Seeing as how I have minimal experience in Acrobat, that would save me time. :D Thanks - so does this mean we can expect more crosswords or just on a regular basis? ;)

I quite like the idea of a Flash crossword, nice and small download time and instant feedback (and would prevent certain people I know, me, from forcing words that don't really fit in there! lol)

Then again I do know of a template for HTML crossword puzzles, all a matter of adding a small piece of code to make squares black & white... Might save some hassles and keep it simple?

Thanks to my new job, I'm getting loadsa experience in Acrobat, so PDF's are no problem! And I have a template in Quark, plus my increasing knowledge of Quark helps in moving the boxes around... as I know naaaaathing about HTML, it's easier for me this way!

My original idea was to do a series of crosswords (keeps me in newsletter articles for months!) covering not only the Necroscope series but Primal Lands, Dream Lands, Mythos and short stories. That's presuming people are getting some enjoyment out of them... I haven't heard a single comment so far about the last one (except "What crossword?" from a registered member who doesn't read the newsletter... shame on you!)

So, I'll be doing another crossword for the next newsletter, and this time there'll be a prize to go with it. But if there's no interest, I guess I'll find something else to witter about after that! tongue.gif

Got my interest. I'm stuck on about six of 'em. I gotta crack the book for those, I guess.

I'll get back to ya. smile.gif
