I've heard this rumor from two different sources... my local sportstalk radio guys reported it in their news segment today, and a friend of mine who said he saw it on MSN.com told me the same thing yesterday.

I've searched a little for the story but haven't come up with anything so far. Maybe one of you all will have better luck.

They're saying that the boy-band, 'nsync, have all five of them landed roles as Jedi Knights in the next Star Wars movie. Short lived parts in which they are killed in some battle or another soon after introduction.

Guess that's one way to get little girls interested. I know mine is excited (she did kinda liked the first one a little, though she hates to admit it).

What do you think? Does it bother you if it's true?

As long as they don't cheese it up too much, 's all right with me. smile.gif

Read the same report... Lucas put them in it because his daughter likes the band. What a joke. Much like the title.

Thank God they are supposedly only on screeen for like 1 sec in the background and get wiped out immediately.

Don't think I've ever wanted to see Jedi die so much, but leave it to Lucas to make you hate the good guy.

When did this man lose it? Thank goodness his special effects crew can make neato cgi that makes people want to see his sad stories anymore... because I have to admit the trailer looks awesome. :D

LOL... you don't seem to thrilled! :D I guess maybe you gotta have an extremely happy little girl around to make it seem okay.

Yet another sign of aging, I guess. :( There was a time when news like this would have made me very unhappy.

Thanks for the confirmation of the story. smile.gif

Hey come on guy's,

I can't be all bad 'NSYNC' get killed. Who doesn't want that to happen.

Not only that, but if their in the film, it means their not trying to sing, mind they might sound better singing with their last breath.

If MTV reports it - it must be true. smile.gif

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!

NSICK in Star Wars? Lordy. A VERY bad idea, however briefly they may appear and however painfully they die, if true smile.gif

What next? Britney-wan-kenobi?!

It's not the first time 'Captain George' has done something like this though. In the last movie he included the Extra Terrestrials from Mr Spielberg's abbreviated movie as a "recognition of his friends creativity"...

I used to think this series of movies was something special. Mr Lucas has shown me the error of my ways. The old Star Wars movies are classics (mainly due to Lucas not directing them - with SW being the exception). The new ones are just movies. That's how I'll enjoy them.

Briefly off topic: Has anyone ever seen "Howard The Duck"? All the signs were there you know...

Howard the Duck was a LucasFilm? That explains much...

NSICK and Britney-wan-Kenobi...LOL!

How 'bout the Backstreet Droids or Boyz to Stormtrooperz?

:D

I've heard a whisper that Bono may appear in the guise of the whistling pepper pot R2 U2. ;)

Well you can rest easy... I'm now hearing that the scene is being axed due to the overwhelming negative response George is getting about the whole thing.

Imagine that.

Well Nate - not so fast! smile.gif

Just read this article:

NSYNC Dropped or not? (http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/eo/20020110/en/_n_sync_cut_from_quot_clones_quot__1.html)

George might have let it slip they would be dropped to get everyone off his back and in true Lucas fashion put them in at the end to piss everyone off and try to ring in the teenage girls so EP II can beat Titanic this time! smile.gif It's all about the Benjamins...

Brooklyn will be so thrilled! You shoulda seen her face when I told her they might cut it!

Did anyone see Saturday Night Live last night? Darryl Hammond does a pretty funny George Lucas impression. :D

Man, he got hammered!
