View Full Version : Queen of the Damned

Erg..... The third book in the Anne Rice series, Queen of the Damned, is now becoming a movie...
My feelings?? Well, I'm not sure, considering it has none of the original actors/actresses, and the "Queen"(an egyptian) does not look Egyptian... I would be completely against it, and say they are ruining the experience as it could be. But I have seen a preview, and overlooking the above irritations... it looks all right...
Let me hear other's feelings... if anyone cares as much, or even as close to as much, as I do... :D

Saw the preview - didn't realize what it was and it looked good - saying that, after I saw the title... well.... at least is doesn't look all romantic and lovely-dovey. let's hope it isn't.

In the media here, it's been said that it was considered so dreadful that it was going to be a 'straight to video' release, until the death of the 'Queen', although now it may get a full cinema release... surely the film industry wouldn't be so cynical and unfeeling as to cash in on someone's awful death!!!

without doubts it shall please many folk. for me i found queen of the damned, a rather painfully slow and monotenous read. dissapointing... given the hollywood take on interview. its not suprising that its going to go straight to blockbuster video and into the halls of forgoten video... smile.gif

Well, I threw in with the mob and saw it last night. All in all I guess it was entertaining. Definitely NOT scary. Definitely NOT suspenseful.
Can't figure out why they called it The Queen of the Damned . . . the Queen only appeared in about 10 minutes of actual film. I don't know if it is like that in the book since I haven't read it. Seems like the movie should have been called Lestat Becomes a Rock Star.
If you really want to see it, I would advise waiting until it comes to video or goes to the discount theaters.
