I don't know how you do it! (I'm a technology virgin, being from Kentucky. We just got running water and an indoor toilet yesterday...lol.)
I especially liked the Monty Python flashback with the "foot-squashed-smiley". Oh, and the "bird-flashing" smiley is great, too. Does a smiley have fewer fingers, like Mickey Mouse? And if so, which is the middle one? lol. I'll shut up now.

Well, typical dumb blonde situation. I've found an animated smiley that grows fangs and horns, and I can't figure out how to add it to the text. I'm such a girl, and a computer virgin at that! Times like these I need a Y-chromosome around. Oh well, back to "PCs For Dummies".

A not so long time ago, in a galaxy...well, in this galaxy, there was a boy called Nathan. He did not have the first clue how to do anything on the web, much less the computer. Then one day, a guy on the S. King MessageBoard decided to post a sort of 'How To" on cutting and pasting and posting smileys and stuff. That was probably the single positive thing I gained from my membership there. :mad:

Anyhow, I'm still no expert, but it's not that hard to do and I'm gonna try to do you the favor that that guy did for me...maybe it'll help others too...? Now, you computer wizards out there who want to make fun of me for how I might explain this to her just remember...I'm the one taking the time to do it! tongue.gif And those of you learning from my little lesson remember...it's much easier to do it than it is to explain or teach it. smile.gif Here goes...

Step 1...Point with your mouse at the smiley you have found that you would like to post.
Step 2....Right click on the picture and scroll down to "properties."
Step 3...Left click on that.
Step 4....That will bring up a big box with all of the picture's properties. Copy the whole URL address. (Hopefully you know how to copy and paste as this is essential in completing your task. If you don't know how...highlight said URL and right click. You should be able to figure it out from there. smile.gif)
Step 5....After copying the URL, clear out the "big box" and whatever else you have on your screen showing your smiley and go to the reply page of the thread in which you would like to post the it. (Actual photographs are different somehow. I still screw them up. :()
Step 6....Paste the URL on the page and surround it like this,,, YourURL ...without the spaces.

That should do it. While you are on your reply page, go ahead and click on the "UBB code enabled" link at the left side of your screen. Read through that and it will help you out with such things as well. Also it might be a good idea to keep your bigger images in here or in the "Pictures and Misc," forum. smile.gif (I got in twubble once. :D)
