I have been updating access rights today and getting all of the past subscribers who have not paid their yearly fees current.
I would once again like to ask everyone to please keep their email addresses on the Board up to date so when it is time for your renewal, I can contact you and let you know.
If you are having trouble accessing the Board or Newsletter, drop me an email with your correct address so we can get things back on track.
As always, I would like to thank all of you who help support the Board and Newsletter.

Yeah, PayPal should be fine... following the links in the Store, and clicking on the line that starts 'I agree...' should take you through it all. Good luck, just yell if you need us!

that's a little strange... I'll go and have a look!
2 reasons I can think of for this:
1. You don't have Macromedia Flash installed.
2. You're either using a freebe email address (yahoo, hotmail, etc) and/or you don't have a mail client (like outlook express) installed on your pc.
You have to have both flash and an email client installed on pc/mac to use this system. It's set up like this to stop spam.
Try clicking on this link (to an email address), and tell us what happens.

yeah tops i have macro installed im also using outlook express e-mail wise ,as i know you cant register with a gratis e-mail to join the site.
pc/mac ,do you mean the function is only available on mac os ? xp here
tried the above link no good ,if you have it set up like you say tops, how can i mail brian for instance which is a big draw for me,aswell as being able to reach you guys without having to post my information on here .
if theres another way around this id like to know be4 i go ahead with being a full member .
thx

Skinters,
It shouldn't matter whether you are on MacOS or Windos, or Linux... The above link is a standard way of linking to email addresses in a web page (so standard it's been about since 1990) - flash just hides the email address. I think there moght be something wrong with your settings in IE (? or mozilla or opera, or whatever browser you are using).... you can check:
tools > internet options > programs >
See which email program you have set up to be used. Seems to me that this is the problem you have, otherwise, you have a messed up operating system... if the link above doesn't work then, and your programs are set up correctly (as per options), then it's something else... outlook express might be a little broken, or your internet browser might be broken...
Let me know how you get on!

I can get the links to work, and I'm on a Mac, which usually means if it works for everyone else then not for me!
Just for the record, my email address is (predictably!) gothgirl@brianlumley.com. If you can't get the links to work, at least it's not too much to type! I'll be happy to help all I can, although I won't be much help with technical issues!

tops,
thought you said you have to use pc/mac to use the functions , which as you know is a different operating system. im fully aware of certain links being a standard way of linking to an e-mail addy, and have already explained im using outlook express which is my default mail .
everything my end is working fine and have never had this kinda problem before reaching moderators or the like by way of clicking a link ........only here ,also if the fault was my end such as outlook express being broken as you put it ,how would that interfere by clicking the links you have here, like i said ive never had a problem at any time in the past .
could it not be possible that the measures that have been taken to stop spam as you said
(You have to have both flash and an email client installed on pc/mac to use this system. It's set up like this to stop spam) stop access to certain uses iressepective of they settings ,be it whatever browser that is being used
ok im gonna play around with it coz i can always change my settings back to the way they were
peace

no.. you can't click my link above. And don't take offence, I'm not trying to blame anything here, just trying ot get the bottom of your problem. The next thing I need to do it point you in the direction of another site with a similar link to the one I posted above, which didn't work for you and should... if you can click it there, then there's a problem here (which I very much doubt).
try the link on this page:

its ok mate mate theres no offence taken,im not trying to blame anything either jus ive never had the problem anywhere else .....and would like to sort this out be4 i go further ,it might indeed be a case of tweaking certain settings but which settings to change is a bit of a stab in the dark .....
the link above http://www.shearer.org.uk/mail.html
opened a new window ..... click here to mail me.
clicked on that and nothing .

yo tops panic over mate ....alls well again
i found that outlook express wasnt set as default which im sure it was,as all mail comes in that way but i realised it really didnt have to be made default where i was concerned coz outlook is all i have.
so my guess would be the security measures you had taken where spam and the like is concerned ,commanded that any mail clients used to get in contact with you through the site had to be made default, with no exeptions .
anyways like you said there was no blame either end but computers can make a man into beast in no time grin.gif
anyways thx tops ;)

Okay, I don't want to email Shadoe and bother him with what is probably an insanely dumb question, until I've exhausted what other possiblities exist.
I want to upgrade my account, (and since our hotel money was included in our registration money I have an extra ninety bucks that I've been savign up that I can draw from!) The trouble is that I don't want to do it if I'm going to possibly loose contact with my roadrunner (which happens to be my ISP bound internet connection) in August when I go off to college, so I don't want to pay for the upgrade then not be able to have access to the benefits. So I guess my question is, if my email changes and if it isn't ISP bound would I still be able to access things here, and be able to use my account? That's really the only thing barring my way from elite membership at the moment, for if I can get in even if my email isn't all bound up I'm most definately getting it...
That's all, and to anyone who replies with information I can use (Hubris and Nathan were unhelpful!) I'm grateful.

Curious person here.
I've paid the fee to become an Elite member.
But, the email addy for my PayPal account is different than the one used for my access here. How will the person know for whom the payment was for? And a slightly more selfish question: when will my access become Elite?
Thanks.
Goth Girl

Nightshade... if you email Shadoe on the address you used to register here, just let him know what your PayPal email address was, so he can match up the payment to the person. You can get his (or any moderator's) email address from the Contact page.
Once he's done that, I'm sure you'll be Elite in no time at all!
