The trailer for Van Helsing is available to watch here and it looks pretty cool

http://www.vanhelsing.net/

It stars Hugh Jackman and is directed by Stephen Sommers who made the Mummy movies

A new trailer is now up on the site - and the movie still looks good - some of the real-time morphing of the vamps' faces is exactly what we have all envisioned while reading Brian's stories - looks like Necroscope the movie is not far away with the efects available today... but we all knew that..

I went to see Dawn of the Dead last night and they showed a different trailer... possibly the same one you're talking about.

Looked awesome...

Kate Beckinsale has come a long way from Pearl Harbor. Loved her in Underworld too.

I also saw Dawn of the Dead yesterday, and the trailer for Van Helsing was great. Already made plans with a friend to see it when it comes out...along with Hellboy and Harry Potter 3.

Saw this one today....saw Underworld the night before on vid.....i have to say Underworld won hands down.

Van Helsing was ok, but not as strong as it could have been, also i don't think there was enough explanation of stuff...i won't say any more here just in case people haven't seen it yet but i didn't think it was all that hot.

anyone agree with me? or will i get slated ;)

I absolutely loved it!!!!!!!!! grin.gif grin.gif
It would have to be a very bad movie for me not o have enjoyed a vamp film *L*
Kate Beckinsale.............
I have Underworld on DVD and loved that as well but I thought the vamps in Van Helsing were much better.
When Dracula changed into that bat/human/monster I was thinking but one word.... WAMPHRYI!
*L* smile.gif
There was one BIG unanswered question about the character of Van Helsing though....... and the movie sort of set up for either a sequel or a "prequel" I thought.
But hey, Underworld did the same and I hear that film will be making a prequel. grin.gif ;)
Anyways...... I thought it was a great tribute movie to the whole Universal Studios movie monsters.

Canker....i agree with you on the *make up* when i saw the brides and drac himself change, it did bring memories of Wamphyri...teeth like scythes, splitting gums etc so yeah i give it full marks for that, just thought that it was a bit bland on the whole. As for the 'wolves, i preferred Underworld for the way they changed.

You just like Kate Beckinsale....LOL....

Yes I do! *L*
My 10 year old daughter did comment that the Werewolves in Underworld looked more evil than the ones in Van Helsing.
She said that the wolfman/Wolfmen ;) Looked like little puppy dogs....... Now I have no idea what kind of dog she is talking about but I'm not buying her one. ;) grin.gif

Yep. I taught my pooch well. grin.gif ;) *L*
While we are comparing…. I thought the Werewolves in Underworld had more of a “lioness” quality. Anyone else see that? smile.gif

Van Helsings were much more dog-like. And I couldn’t help but think during the movie, “If a Necroscope/Wamphryi movie was made….. would that be the image of a Dog-Lord?” I hope so because it was awesome!!!!

Utter pants story line, quite possibly the worst I've ever had the mis-fortune to witness.

But on the weird side I did quite enjoy the whole thing even though the plot just made me feel ashamed for the writers.
