Well, the television version has come out... I have to say that comparitively speaking with the original movie, this one gets "two thumbs up"... I despise watching made-for-tv movies because I hate commercials, and there were some crater-sized plot-holes... but all in all; good show.

But is it scary?? How are the vampires? I loved the vampires in the original version, not so much Barlow but the towns people vamps. They looked so disease ridden and inhuman. I'm gonna have to wait for this to come out over this side of the pond. I can't wait.

I also have a hard time watching made for TV movies.I watched the first part then forgot to watch the rest,so I guess it didn't really catch my interest or maybe I was to tired.
I'll have to give it another try when it re-run.

Did anybody tape this? We've got a machine that plays US tapes and a copy would be very much appreciated... grin.gif

If you respond please do so by e-mail.

Cheers!

It was decent. The original mini-series only scared me because I was a little kid. Subsequent viewings have just make me laugh.

But hell, I even get a kick out of the book since being introduced to the Wamphyri! There's just nothing that can compare.

The story's good, the writing is brilliant as usual, but the vampires are weak little sissies. grin.gif

I have to admit that there are some very creepy scenes in this new version, but all in all I wasn't that impressed.

I'm really quite baffled by the ending. I know this wasn't endorsed by or even affiliated with Mister King in any way, but it seems like he'd throw a fit about the killing of Father Callahan! The good priest lives to this day, reappearing in these latest two Dark Tower books!
