Vampire Movies....

All this talk about the Necroscope Movie had me mulling over my my favourite vampire movies over the years ... if I had to pick 3 I'd go for ..

Salems Lot- This would be the original 2 parter with David Soul not the butchered film version - I found the contempary nature of it really scary when I first saw it -- and the tapping Glick boy at the window freaked me out!

Near Dark- Changed the normal view of the vampire ... like Necroscope had a different mythos. A little tragic, but the vampires still kicked ass!

Vampire Circus- Had to have a Hammer film, and again when I saw it in my youth it stuck in my mind, a little like 'something wicked this way comes' I think... sensual stuff that had my teenage hormones kicking in!

I could think of some others, but these are ones I always enjoy watching again and again....

Mine would be:

Lifeforce Vampires from out of space. The fact that she spends a lot of time naked has nowt to do with this

Vampire 2000 (2001) A good modern vampire flick

UltraViolet A UK TV series that, IMHO borrowed ideas from a certain author but was still good. Unfortunately, they never made a second series.

The Lost Boys...Still one of my all time top ten films

Salems Lot...The TV series, although it is a bit dated it still brings back that creepy feeling I got as a petrified 7yr old

Blade...Kick ass flick that just makes me want to be him, you get to be a vamp but with out the draw backs

The first one to come to mine is Blade / Blade II,i guess because i've watched them more times then i could remember. they are kick ass.
Looking for Blade III

But my all time favorit vampire movie....
hasn't been made yet.

Seeing as everyone has mentioned nearly all my favourites (although not From Dusk till Dawn which I love)I liked the comedy 'Dance of the Vampire' though it has had several other names between the USA and here. The one with Roman Polanski as the assistant to the vampire hunter.

I like the old Hammer Dracula films with Christopher Lee. He stayed at my house when I was little and it scared the crap out of me.

Other than that Ultraviolet (UK version) and Near Dark. I also quite enjoyed Underworld, maybe it was the leather outfit!!
