Hey everyone :D

I've been talking to some of you about getting together on the night before the con. Seems like there will be a few of us out so I thought I would make an open invitation for anyone who is gonna be around for the Friday evening,it will be nice to break the ice so to speak and maybe get to know a few folk before the "big do" on the Saturday :D

The venue will most likely be The Unicorn as at £1.25 a pint and £1.80 a double a good night can be had with plenty of cash left over for the Saturday!

So please feel free to come and have a cheap and cheerful night out round town!!

Let's make this a weekend to remember.... ;)

Just a quick note for anyone who wants to come out with the Mancs on the Friday night.

Although there's a few back rooms in the Unicorn, I asked the landlady about using the room upstairs for us lot.

The cost for this would have been a tenner, but as it's my local, the landlady scrubbed the charge. :D

Only snag is, there's no upstairs bar, but the landlady said she might be able to sell us bottles and cans upstairs, so we'd only have to toddle downstairs for Shorts.

Also if anyone's peckish, they do butties for a quid.

Thanks for the praise Von Darkmoor, but my GF was the originator of all this.

She'd already chatted to various people on the Board about if anyone wanted to come out on the Friday night if they were staying up here for the full weekend.

I just thought it'd be a good idea while I was in the pub last week, to mention to the Landlady about getting a room to oursevles so we wouldn't be so squashed if a fair number of people turned out.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to your questions, I was off on Sick yerserday.

Anyway here we go.

I used to be a bouncer at the Apollo in the late 80s. The theatre is on the Southern outskirts of Central Manc, start of the A6 / Stockport Rd in Ardwick.
Would only be a couple of quid in a taxi and it'd probably be the same as getting the bus there.


I'm not that well up on South Manc, being from the Northside myself. My boss tells me it's about 4 - 5 miles out on the SE side of Manc.

Looking in the A-Z, the PostHouse doesn't seem to be near a local train station, so you could either get a taxi outside Piccadilly Station or walk up the road to Piccadilly Gardens and get a bus to Northenden.

Scar reckons Oxford Rd might be my best bet, so I'll probably get a bus/taxi from there.

We'll sort out a time for the Unicorn nearer the date.

Oxford Rd is the station before Piccadilly, so again, you can get a taxi from there, or get a bus on Oxford Rd which is the main road straight to the Posthouse.

I have never been in Manchester so I am very nervous about going out on the town at night. So i will look forward to seeing you all in two day's time :eek: (oh my god its just down to 3 days til the KeoghCon!!)I will cringe and fade away if we bump into Brian and Silky when enter the hotel, someone will have 2 scrape me up off the floor, I am so nervous hehe.
