HI Guys,

Thjis is my first time online in over a week, as I have been in way too much pain to sit at a desk and type!!!

Right now I have a piece of titanium holding part of my leg together and a screw fixing 2 bones together as not only did I dislocate and and break my ankle, but in true, 'lets see how bad this can get style' I ripped all the tendons in my ankle as well... will be off my feet for the next 6 weeks as a certainty.... what a great beginning to a new year, first my dad emigrates to OZ, and then the same day I break my leg... although I still feel as thoughI have been very lucky as I was running across a main road when it happened, and so I am thankful for life right now ;)

THanks for the thoughts guys,

TOps (hops, etc!!!)

Update:

Well I had 26 stiches (the metal kind) out of my leg, and have a new plaster... on 21st I'll be in for surgery again to have a pin removed from leg... the same time (I have been told by the consultant) I'll be having the plaster off. Then I have the joy of learning to walk again... atleast I'll be able to get it right this time!;P

Anyway later,

TOps

good luck old buddie...

having torn lateral ligaments in my left ankle with a fracture and having had achilles tendonitis in my right ankle.. my thoughts go out to you in your relearning to walk.. keep your chin up and get back on your feet as soon as you can... ;)

Here's yet another update on the messy thing that was once called a leg and will be again soon, although very scarred by the looks of it.

last week (19th feb 2002) I went back to the hospital to have my second op this year, and wow it was good as I could use my crutches again within an hour of coming off the anasthetic (can't spell that), althoguh that in itself was cool as I woke up too soon.

anyway, to cut it short, I've have the pin hold my 2 bone together and now don;t have a plaster, but I have this stupid big boot for support right now as I can only put 25% of my body weight on the leg right now...

I had physio yesterday, and that was good as I have about half the movement of my good ankle in the bad one. and that's after a week of no plaster... makes you feel good... thebest thing is being able to sit at a computer again as I was before.

Basically things are going well and after about 6-8 more physio sessions I'll be good as new with added metal and scars. you'll have to see them. or not, but I should recommend it's not for the squeamish, hey that counts none of you guys and gals...

OK, a new update on the leg that will be again:)

Well I had a good time at physio this morning, and was told that I'd have 2 more sessions, and all begin well, that's it, finished;)

So I started this long road on 2 Jan 02, and finish it exactly 6 months later on 2 Jul 02:)

I just can't believe it, it's been so long....

Wow... I was also told to try running again, but I have to say I am a little scared about that!
