God I can't believe where the time has gone this year ! Only 5 weeks to KC6 and less than that until we hit Torquay (that's if we get there in a normal amount of time) . I hope Frank and Helmi can make it, looking forward to chatting with them again and everyone for that matter !! This year we're definitely going to get some pics that we can publish without red eyes (and not off the camera...I think that was the booze) and maybe even without wine or beer glasses in hands ( not even I could be that optimistic  ). When is everyone going down this year?

If there's going to be no wine or beer glasses in hand we'll need straws!

I'm going down on the Friday

I'm there Friday. I'm now officially in training, two bottles of red and a 3 port & red WKD's today. It's a start!

I can't believe how quick it's gone since last year.

As if you need training Rix!

How long is everyone staying? I'm leaving on the Monday, the trains back are practically non-existant on Sundays!

Brian will be there but I'm not attending this year...

Just kidding. We'll be there the usual times. Brian and I will both stay at the hotel on Friday night as usual and only Brian on Saturday night. I'll go home but I'll be back on Sunday. And we'll be there on Monday too because Bob and Marianne go up to London on Monday.

Talked to the Koszowskis and as of right now they are still coming. Allen is doing much better but we'll have to wait and see.

Helmi will be here if he doesn't have a comedy gig at the time.

Frank says he is attending.

So let's keep our fangs crossed in anticipation.

BTW, Thanks to everyone for sending their drink order in.

There are still a few of you who haven't responded yet.

Didn't get to see Sue this week due to the last hellish three weeks of having a new bathroom installed next to my study ... yipes.

Will be seeing Sue next week. I'll be giving her the drinks order then so anyone who hasn't responded get cracking.

I think my Head Office could do with seeing the catering at the Keoghcon..I went to a Managers meeting today an hour away from home, went down for a quick smoke at lunchtime, came back and only 6 crisps and a vol au vent left...there was only one little table for 50 managers.... got in tonight starving and bored lolol

Hey, would the US Lumlians attending KeoghCon (or those who have attended in the past) please give me a rough idea of the total expense? Particularly those in the central and midwestern states...

Thanks.

Really depends on the airline fare you can get. Once you get to London you've got to travel down to Torquay and that will probably cost you approximately £200.00 in train fares. If you were here for three nights £85.00 for hotel and then there's the food and any other expenses you might incur. But once you get to the hotel you don't need any other transportation because everything's within walking distance...

And this is for one person...

Hope this helps...

And for those not familiar with the international conversion, 200 pounds is roughly $360-380? Correct? And then about $150/night for the hotel. Not too out of line, but a chunk. So figure for the weekend dropping about $750 without drinks or meals - so $1000 should cover you well. :) I've always found the plane ticket to be the annoying part. The best I think I got it for was $700. And the benefit of sitting in a cramped chair for 6-9 hours just didn't seem right. But then, I think if flying was more affordable, more people would do it, then the airlines would make more money and not be in trouble, blah blah blah - but that's another thread. :D

$161.00 for the hotel for three nights. Train fares approximately $380.00. So it is rather expensive.

Comfort on the plane really depends on what size plane they are using. If you fly a 777 you've got plenty room. The smaller the plane the less leg room.

My train fare from London this year was £44... so approx $83. So cheaper train fares are available! :)

Damn, sorry Debs I meant to offer you a lift like last year. The offers still there if you want it, dunno if you can get a refund?

My train fare from the north was £101.60 and that's full fare, I couldn't get a discount ticket. So even though it could still be expensive I'm sure that full fare wouldn't be so much from London. I don't know the conversion for dollars though.

Cheers Rixy, but it's non-refundable... so I've paid for it and I'm damn well gonna use it! Plus I wasn't sure if you were coming back on the Sunday or not... we were both suffering quite badly on the way home last year, LOL

Ok Debs, no worries. I'm heading back on Sunday, not sure what time and you were right about last year!
