View Full Version : KEOGH GATHERING 2007...

KeoghCon has now become Keogh Gathering 2007

Due to circumstances beyond our control this was the last year for the Con as such. Hotel problems, people problems ... but mainly last year should have been the last but Brian talked me into another one. And I'm glad he did because we had Bob and Marianne Eggleton over as our Guests. Too much organization, administration and stress for me anymore.

Although I wanted to end the con as such I did not want to stop seeing all our friends. So hence "Keogh Gathering." Where Brian and I can just sit back and enjoy. This requires very little management on my part and everything I need to do at the moment is done right now.

NOTE: This event is now closed to outsiders. It is by private/personal invitation only for long time standing friends and long time attending members. All of you concerned have received a post from me with all the new details. Hence, no web information. Dates are to be kept private among those attending please and not to appear publicly.

Now on to the good things...

Hello Guys & Gals!

So far 22 of you have confirmed you are interested in next year's gathering. And for that we thank you. So Book Your Room! Book Your Room! The sooner we fill up 20 rooms the better.

Normally in this forum I am the only one who is supposed to initiate posts ... however, I will open this forum up to anyone who wants to discuss next year's event. So do me a big favour and post them in the KeoghCon forum.

Note: Discuss what you will but please do not mention dates. Only those on a "need to know" basis, know. This would be very much appreciated.

So ... I guess that's it for the time being ... or until some other info arises.

we'll be there next year. it'd be like missing an arm or a leg if we didn't go, our year wouldn't be complete :)

This is really great. I'm so pleased people are booking their rooms early. We've already taken up twelve rooms so far.

Sue is chuffed to bits as well.

Allen Koszowski says if all goes well he definitely wants to come back next year as well. So we will keep our fingers crossed as we always do. Victoria will be back as well provided she is back from her trip to Guana next year.

Really going to be enjoyable for me. I'll get to enjoy the entire weekend with only a minimal amount of work. Most of that is done now with getting all the info off to you folk. Just checking in periodically with Sue to see how the rooms are booking up.

I spoke to Sue this morning and she's not going to book anyone else in. Not at the rate the rooms are going. And as long as she doesn't have any coach cancellations the week before or after we should be laughing.

Depending on if there are no outsiders, Brian might do a reading but we'll have to wait and see.

So, keep booking those rooms folks, the sooner we get 20 rooms the less chance we stand of getting outsiders ... she says fingers crossed.;)

Morning:)

I booked my double room last night - so you can guess who's coming with me.

I really missed out this year, but next year, it'll be back to normal - I just hope that the other mentalist makes it (the pink wearing weirdo from Runcorn) and the rest of the "normal" crowd make it...

:D

Yes, Yes, Yes ... let's get that old crowd back together again in addition to the few new!

After all, we don't really know who long this thing is going to go on. Depends now on how much you all want to have one down here.

We've got a good few how have said they are coming back so it looks like a good "Gathering."

BTW, Bob Eggleton called last night. They are seriously wanting to come back next year as well. They had such a great time. If their schedule allows they will be here.

Has anyone had any difficulty getting in touch with the hotel? I emailed but it bounced back undelivered so I called but the number was dead as if the phone was cut off so I so far haven't been able to book my room!

By the way, Joanne is back next year too, that is if we manage to get in touch with the hotel!

im soooooooooo jealous! i'm a very shy person who wouldv'e liked to have went this year but circumstances being as they were i couldn't make it. now i'll never get the chance to meet the great man himself, it seems a shame for us newbies to the internet who never knew these events happened as they dont get advertised & up here i still cant get a bookshop to get 'the touch' without ordering it from america & to pay shiping costs. i think brian needs to get himself better publisied as his work is getting nicked all over the place ie; stargate, medium & spooks are 3 that spring to mind. lastly he sell a whole lot more books!
one very unhappy reader :(

DC we'll definately have to visit the dumplings again for jelly, I don't think I've ever laughed so much, but will it be as funny if we've actually had sleep the night before?

Sorry it has to be this way but there are valid reasons ... not to mention that's the way Brian wants it.

yadayadayada and the rest...

Dose this “gathering” mean that the master will never have the pleasure of meeting new blood again?

Chris Banks
November 24th, 2006, 08:49 AM
Hello Maliris. This certainly does not mean that brian will not be meeting 'new blood' again. He is, as far as I am aware, always pleased to meet and greet new people as one of 'The Family'. I speak from experience. It was my first meeting with the pensmith last year at KCVI and was made to feel instantly welcome. ;)

That’s reassuring since I have thought about going to a KC, but unfortunately I was underage for most of them, but for now I am happy just posting on the board!

Me and 'im indoors are muchly looking forward to this already of course, and hopefully I'll be a bit more awake and useful this time (chance being fine thing etc.) To all the newer people who aren't able to come along I'm sure that if there are any meet-ups at other times you could pop along and have the pleasure/distress of some of our companies!

So, Torbay looks like it will get a casino licence. Hmm
if this goes ahead, we may have some new past times for any future meet.

I bet there'll be one or two!! :p

Silky

Yep, I saw that. Just don't exactly where it will be yet. There's a place in Paignton "Oldway Mansion" and there is the "Pavillion" in Torquay. They were talking about the Pavillion (on the harbour) some time ago. The place used to have all shops in it with a cafe upstairs. The cafe has been gone for some time now and it isn't even half full with shops.

Or it was sited right outside across from Heritage Hotel (Applebys). Where cafe Mojo is. That was all supposed to be torn town and a five story hotel/casino built.

Don't know what's the go but I think they'd be better putting it in Torquay rather than Paignton.

Don't really matter much to me as they got a European roulette wheel, which is no good ... but hey, once you've been in Vegas, nothing else compares...;)

I think you and Brian will have to give lessons... do we get points cards for the Sheddon Hall so every time we spend in the casino it comes off Sue's bill? :D

Silky
January 31st, 2007, 12:47 PM
We should be so lucky ... but we only get a small casino here, you'd have thought we'd at least get a large one. Anyway we won't have that here for a while yet. We still don't know where they are going to put it...;)
