What would you change if you could make one sweeping change to the Necroscope books?
I would change much of the redundancy. when you read the books you start to notice that Brian becomes very redundant in his description of events and skills. Over and over the obvious things in the book are not discovered simply to draw out the story and the explanation always seems to be that the "skills are unfathomable".
I would have given these people a bit more credit for intelligence in this regard

I love all those critics..have you ever written a story? I say: It is good as it is right now :). Well, maybe you wanna rewrite the whole saga? Do it :D

I wouldn't change a thing. But I do know what you mean about redundancy. But I wouldn't consider it a bad thing at all. Can you imagine writing a 13 book saga like Necroscope with the same characters that reappear in numerous volumes? Personally, when Brian uses the same words and phrases several times, it sort of makes me feel closer to the character, maybe I better identify with them...?

I wouldn't change anything, but I'd like more! I've just re-read the whole lot again and I feel as I always do after a mammoth session like that...I want more Necroscope novels!
How about a Vampire Earth series?

The redundancy I agree can be mind numbing, but if someone has never read the first book, or picked up just a random Necroscope novel without knowing who the characters are and what caused them to be where they are, well then it gives them a bit of background to go with as they get into the books. Plus, I think it makes them want to read the ones they missed because though it gives a brief glimpse, you really dont know how it came to be unless you read the books. As for the reoccuring "story-telling" by characters, it just shows consistancy. I personally wouldn't change a thing, and if you don't want to read all the stuff in the beginning on what happened to lead up to that point, just skip it and go to the story...that's what I do.

I agree with Creature as the descriptions make me feel close to the person...

I wouldn't change anything either, it got me totally hooked just as it is and if it were different, maybe it wouldn't be as good.
