Who the Heck is Chandler Davies?

I just finished reading "The Fairground Horrour" and there's a quick mention of Chandler Davies' painting of a "G'harne Landscape" and of his mistress burning it on sight.

Where else have I read about this?

Rising with Surtsey is in the same book (Beneath the Moors) and I had the feeling I had read it longer before that.

But I guess that's the kinds of feeling you get when reading Cthulhu Myhthos stories. all that dreaming plays with your perceptions.
