sdkdmd

......another question and a clue from kenny

Do we need a clue perhaps?

I have asked Titus Crow for help but alas he could not help me.

sdkdmd
January 1st, 2008, 05:32 PM
.....and then another clue, a big one, from kenny

I am from The Caller Of The Black and that is a BIG clue.

Hey Mega, I think you stumped us(again).
Any hints yet??

megadeth
January 7th, 2008, 06:48 PM
Hard to give any clues apart from stating which story it is in. I can tell you it was a battered old Ford, and the old guy wouldn't drive any long distances, (Newquay was as far as he was willing to go).

DC 1
January 8th, 2008, 01:13 AM
Sam Hadley was the man (I think).

megadeth
January 9th, 2008, 05:11 PM
You think right DC. Sam was the taxi driver. Over to you.

DC 1
January 14th, 2008, 03:00 PM
The answer lies in Notes written by Sir Amery Wendy-Smith.

matman72
January 15th, 2008, 05:27 PM
i thought I was onto something then, but it wasn't to be. I thought it was referring to the viking stone for some reason.

Thanx DC.
Why did Fritz Leiber have a go at Brian?

matman72
January 23rd, 2008, 03:22 PM
Alright,
It concerns "the Burrowers Beneath".

Jade Rose
January 23rd, 2008, 09:36 PM
The idea was one Lieber himself had had, and Lumley got to it first.

matman72
January 24th, 2008, 05:56 AM
That'll do.
Go for it.;)

matman72

I'm thinking CT went there.
Am I right?
Hope the initials are enough.
Going to check it out.
Dunno now, something to do with that story(just read it:grin:)

megadeth

CT did go there matman, so you're on the right track.

matman72
February 3rd, 2008, 12:36 AM

Who evicted Hero & Eldin from Celephais for a year.
& how far did they get?

It's a tad easy, hence the double question.

kenny
February 11th, 2008, 07:13 PM
Leewas Nith evicted them and they got to Ephar Phoogs auction house.

matman72
February 12th, 2008, 06:46 AM
It was Leewas Nith, Kenny.
the other part I was looking for is:
they got 2 miles out of Celephais, before they turned around.
close enough man.

kenny
February 15th, 2008, 04:03 PM
l'll be back later with a question.

kenny
February 15th, 2008, 07:19 PM
Who was the second person to have "never a backward glance" and why?

kenny
February 19th, 2008, 12:01 AM
Do we need a clue perhaps?

Tarra Khash was the first to do it.

kenny
February 22nd, 2008, 06:23 PM
He was Gylarth's mage.

matman72
February 23rd, 2008, 05:44 PM
Dramah??
Edit:I don't know what a Backward glance is,
but I have Tarra Khash:Hrossak and Dramah is King
Gylrath's magician, so...yeh

kenny
February 26th, 2008, 11:14 PM
Sorry if the question was confusing, but i was of course referring to "The Complete Khash: Never A Backward Glance" and you are correct Matman it was Dramah. Your go.

matman72
February 28th, 2008, 01:51 PM

Ok. A quick question.

How many hard cover editions were produced of Ghoul Warning?

megadeth
May 12th, 2008, 05:38 PM
I'll take a guess at 3.

sdkdmd
May 12th, 2008, 10:15 PM
I'll take a guess at 3.

Actually I phrased the question wrong. What I was looking for was how many total hc's were published.
But you're right. There were 3 different editions.
Spectre Press did a hc and Ganley/Necro. did a deluxe hc and a lettered hc.

megadeth
May 15th, 2008, 11:55 PM
Ok here's a quick question,(or two). What was the last Titus Crow short story written, and who did Brian blame for putting the idea of writing it into his head?

megadeth
May 26th, 2008, 11:39 AM
The answer can be found in The Compleat Crow.

matman72
May 27th, 2008, 03:05 AM

Just made an interesting mistake that I thought might amuse you guys. I was asked by a friend about the Lumley short story "The Diary of Alonzo Typer", which was in a HPL Cthulhu compilation that he had, and on reading it I was about to post here to let Brian know that there was an imposter writing/publishing as him! After a little bit of digging of course, I found out that it was in fact written in 1935 by William Lumley...

Good job we didn't let the legal hounds off the leash, eh? Stupid, stupid Shroom... *takes a pill and lies down*

Excellent! Then it must be "Ghor, Kin Slayer".

Written as a round robin, with contributions from Mr Lumley, Ramsey Cambell, Frank B. Long, Michael Moorcock et al.

You gave it away with Necronomicon Press :) I actually visited the Michauds at home once (while I was staying briefly in Rhode Island), and got to see the Necro'press operation first hand! I was welcomed into their home, treat as a king, and will never forget my brief visit with Marc and Susan, even though it was almost 14 years ago now! I'm such an old b*gger! Lovely people!

I came across the answer researching on the net due to not having actually read the series. I will in the future correct that situation but can offer no challenging (or otherwise) trivia question about the Titus sagas. I elect to pass the turn on to whomever is most fitting. DC? I could, however, offer up a Necroscope question- but it seems a bit off topic at this point in the thread...
