Hello,

You have another newbie in your midst.

I'm 25 and hail from Liverpool, UK.

Only been a Lumley fan about five years or so but I've gotten through a good number of his books in that time.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of friendly people here. I'm more into the older Lovecraftian stuff and just recently got the wonderful hardcover edition of HAGGOPIAN. It's thrilling to read those old tales once more and to discover I love them just as much now as I did when I was a kid. I wish Brian had written two more collections of Titus Crow stories set in Blowne House before he sent Titus off to other realms! It is quite a revelation to read those old stories. In my last original book of Mythos fiction, I had a recurring motif of mentioning the Black Tower of Stregoicavar and Justin Geoffrey. and even quoting snatches of Geoffrey's poetry -- thinking I was being original. And then when I got HAGGOPIAN AND OTHER STORIES and FRUITING BODIES AND OTHER FUNGI, I discovered that Brian had done this in his early weird tales! He had influenced my new book and I didn't realise it!

i would like to have you PM a link to see something about your writing!

I just finished a hand-edit of my first horror short story last week:
now I just need to re-type, submit to my editor, then try and find an agent or place for publication!

Some of my fiction is online at Thomas Ligotti Online (www.ligotti.net), and my new book of all Cthulhu Mythos fiction will be published this month. I encourage you to write write write! I think A LOT of people want to be writers, but some of them just don't want to do the work. The WRITING MUST COME FIRST, always, and then the rest will follow.

I have found a wonderful way to PROMOTE our writing, or those authors whom we love, such as Lovecraft and Brian Lumley -- YouTube! Last week I began to do video blogs (vlogs) recorded rigtht here at home in front of my laptop. They are almost all related to H. P. Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos. Strangely, my most popular one is on The Sex Pistols -- it's had almost 400 views. I'm using these as a way to promote next month's H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival. I shall soon do one regarding the Mythos fiction of Brian Lumley -- I hope the dear felllow doesn't reel in horror at the idea! My channel at YouTube is called MrWilum.

Welcome to this wonderful forum, devoted to a man who has spent his life being a complete and utter professional in our beloved genre.
