You will note that I have moved the WHC thread from The Retreat to this Forum.
Some necessary information for the WHC.
Note From Brian: Although we will be glad to see any of the KeoghCon Crew at this con … you must keep in mind that this is a World Horror Convention and not a KeoghCon. Although the membership list is small at the moment … there will be lots of authors, editors and publishers coming over from the States for the con. Attendance is usually 600 to 700 people on average. There are only 186 rooms in the hotel. To be fair to the regular con goers … you will need to pay the attendance fee of £50.00 per person. Your adherence to this would be much appreciated.
If I made anyone panic on the above or to scare you away I do apologize. The advantages of having a membership...
Benefits of a Membership: A big advantage is that you get to attend all the panels and readings, plus the mass autograph session on the Friday night. The biggest advantage: This will get you into all the parties. Yep, that's right. All kinds of parties which generally include booze and nibbles and run into the wee hours of the morning. And there's the hospitality suite where you can get food and drink (no alco) throughout the day. Hours are usually very early in the morning to very late at night.:D
Hotel Information: Although I don't know the rate yet for the actual con hotel (just keep watching the con's web site until it comes up ) ... I have been informed that there are plenty of cheaper hotels and B&B's around so once the rate is up for the con hotel ... if it's out of your range you'll be able to check around for a more reasonable offer. We will more than likely go with the Con hotel because then we'll never have to go out of the place if the weather is bad ... and it's rather convenient if you want to take a quick jaunt to the room if it's in the same area.
