Alright heres a matter of personal tastes. Who is your favorite Necroscope, Harry, Nathan, Or Jake. Personally for me its Jake. I love the character of Harry. He is amazingly well written and you feel for him at every point. His transformation in deadspeak and deadspawn was tremendous. Jake still stands out for me. It may be that since I read the e-branch trilogy first he holds a special place in my heart, but I think I identify with him more than Harry. Not to mention the scenes in invaders where he relives his "crimes" are amazing.
So now the question is, Who is your Favorite of theese three?

That is a very very hard question to answer, but a very interesting one.
I find it very difficult to chose favourites as I like all of them, they each have different qualities and I can't chose between them. I love Harry, he is the original and set the moral code that each who followed in his footsteps adhered to. He never asked to be what he was he just dealt with it. He was above all fair and had the conviction and strenght of character to be his own man, even after he bacame Wamphyri.
Nathan had no idea who he really was, or what he could really do until coming to our world. He was pretty much just like his father but totally naive, in awe or terror of everything on our world. His was so likeable because he was completely on the level and had lost so much you really wanted him to take revenge and succeed. I was torn, I loved some of the wamphyri characters from the vampire world and wanted them to continue, but I also loved Nathan's character and wanted him to win!
Jake reminded me a little of Jazz, who was a really cool character. Jake had more attitude though and was far more arrogant. I loved the way that you got to see things from Jakes point of view, and also from Bens and do wonder if he'd have been easier to deal with if Ben had just told him everything from the start. Would he have been a different Jake then? He was like the lovable rogue.
Nope, still can't decide! I'd like to know what the rest of you think though?

Great Question, for me,Harry was ,is and always will be THE NECROSCOPE.
His innocence, naievity, fairness, humility and humanity, even as Silver says when he became Wamphyri, was something which any of the later necroscopes never knew.Nathan was never truly tested like his father but thats something I hope Brian can see to yet.Jake just didn't have the same characteristics we had come to expect from a necroscope, that in itself isn't enough to discard him, but I just didn't warm to him as much as Harry.
One character I would have loved to learned more about and seen more of was Nestor, while he inherited all Harrys "bad" qualities and had them enhanced when he became infected,I wonder what it would have been like had he had the same qualities as Harry, and fought them more.
But for me,as the line from a great movie says "There can be only One"and for me thats Harry.

I know what you mean about Nestor Numasthrall, it would be good to know more. On the other hand though seeing as he could remember very little himself it seems kind of right that we don't know more, and even he came good in the end, proving him to be more like Harry than first thought.

While I said I didn't warm to Jakes character, thinking bout him now and what was said about him reliving his crimes,I remember thinking at the time how great this was and how much thought Brian puts in to each character.
Its only when someone mentions certain sequences or events that you remember how good Necroscope as a whole is.When I read the E-Branch Trilogy,it took me a while to get used to Harry not being around and I suppose I wanted Jake to have more Harryisms?,but as soon as the mind games with Korath began all thoughts of Harry left and Jake was the man.
All in all,Harry is THE NECROSCOPE,but in reality when I think about it,the other Necroscopes aren't that far behind, its just that its easier to empathise with him because hes been through so much more than any of them and while keeping his belief in an eye for an eye he still still held on to his GOODNESS.This is why for me,all these great books later I still want more.
