I got the idea for this while checking out the 'Old Wamphyri Statues Update' thread. Shadoe with his Shaithis bust and diorama tongue.gif set up all neat and tidy in a curio cabinet with his copy of The Source.
So I've decided to start a thread for anyone who'd like to show off what they've got. Now I know that not everyone is a 'Neccie' like me, (Get it? Neccie...Trekkie) but I want to see your collections. Big or small, common
or rare, good condition or bad. It doesn't matter. Books, comics, games, posters, or whatever you have. It's not a contest, just a place to show off and be proud. Five years ago mine consisted of 6 paperbacks and The Last Aerie in hardcover...Whatever you've got, let's see it.
"Anorakishativatoriness" not required... :D (GWB Jr. joke :D)
Here is my first bit to show off...it's the one wall in the house that my wife gives me free reign. She calls it, The Wall of Evil! It has some of my most prized books...and stuff. :D
http://www.brianlumley.com/graphics/lumlians/c722cb84.jpg
...that little guy in the middle was formerly known as Man-Bat from the Batman Beyond series...now he's known as Wamus of the Wamphyri! :D

Nathan, that is soooooo cool!! and Neccies... love that!!
I´m not taking any piccies of my collection until I´ve decorated that room (!), but I have taken a pic of the Paul S. picture that I have hanging over my fireplace... can´t remember the file name right now, but I´ll post it when I get back home!

If I ever get a decent camera, perhaps I'll try to get a couple of pictures of my Lumley collection! The best I could do was get a close-up of a few books with my video camera and then paste them together. And you still can't really read anything but the titles on them . . . :(

I happened upon this little auto-accessory by accident, and I may be showing you something that you are all privy-to...but WTH. Forgive me, but I didn't know where else to stick-it...so you can tell me where-to-stick-it, if you like...lol. This is just so cute, and I think that they run about $40 and are compatible to other vehicles, besides the illustrated Miata. http://www.auto-expressions.com/yahoo/vampire/hungry.jpg

Lady Marie--That is too funny! I'm gonna have to find one of those for Mandi's mini-van. :D
Davestrorm--Man, I forgot all about this thread but have been meaning to ask you...what is the green one top left and the red one bottom right? I can't make out the titles. You and SpOOk have some nice things there...I think ya'll do need a safe!
I've got much more than I had at the time of this thread and more coming in. The Wall of Evil has changed quite a bit recently...I'll try to get pictures up soon. smile.gif

OK, here's a small list for you, with some of the rarer titles...
Caller of the Black (AH)
The Horror at Oakdeene (AH)
Beneath the Moors (AH)
House of Cthulhu (Wierdbook Press)
Weirdbook 13 (has a lumley short)
Arkham Collector december 1969 (has lumley short)
Coven of Vampires (F&B version)
Last Rite (hard cover version)
Beneath the Moors and Darker Paces (uncorrected proof)
Note all of the above are signed except a couple of them.
I could go on a list more anthologies with short stories, but I would go mad.... and I am only going through the rarer stuff in my mind.
I might p[ost some pics, but someone here at work toook the right rotten piss when I was looking, so I am not posting piccies, well not yet at any rate....
Later,
TOps
ps. my collection must run in at very near 60 or more titles.... and it's growing all the time. Basically in the last 3 years I've bought about 120 books, most of which have been rare titles, not only lumley though!

I spent a night recently trying to sleep beneath one of these collections... But I couldn't doze off - I could hear them all through the long night whispering from between their covers, calling to me, telling me to do monstrous things - calling on me to get the fire axe, to write REDRUM on the walls... All through the darkness chittering away, stealing what remains of my sanity!

[Sorry... you gotta insert smilies fer yerself. Dern thing'll only let me do so much!]
Thanks Tops. See the box on the far left end of the shelf? That's a Lego set of Darth Vader and Luke lookin' about eight years old. And you can't really make out the dude opposite OZZY... it's Nosferatu! Complete with rat base (extra rats) and skin that really melts! My ten-year old nephew got it for me! smile.gif Too bad I can't play with the dang thing.
See the stack of coins near the Weird Tales books? That's a dollar coin collected from most of the big hotels in Vegas when I met the Lumleys...
See Eddie up there under Wamus? Just got him for Xmas. He's a bobble-head!
sdkdmd - that is truly a collection to be proud of! (Or I guess I should say, "of which you should be proud") How long have you been collecting? I'm pea-green, I tell ya! And all in plastic! I shid really do that too, I suppose.
Here're some more I've picked up over the last couple years...
This first one's hardcover, obviously my favorite. I have six more of 'em but these are the only ones I've read:

These are two of five books from the The World of Necroscope role-playing game. The other three are covers you've all seen many times before:
http://images.snapfish.com/342%3A3%3C2%3B23232%7Ffp58%3Dot%3E2343%3D597%3D363 %3DXROQDF%3E2323763%3C45237ot1lsi

Oh dear. Just seen the email from sub press.
It seems like they have sent out Screamin Science Fiction and there are some minor problems, like they didn't put in most of the illustrations.
See their web site for more info but basically, they will be sending out corrected versions and you can keep the one they have already sent you.

Mine came today #23 with 3 illustrations inside, so hopefully should get another once its reprinted grin.gif
Came with a free copy of Postscripts, a 144 page paperback of short stories.
Regarding the ARC's, I like getting different versions of the same book. The ARC's aren't sold to the public so are a little harder to get and are very limited with their print runs.
Thats also why I couldn't pass up Silkys offer of the Lost Years manuscript. It's one of a kind and as such the prize of my collection. Brian also signed the start of each chapter grin.gif

Hey, I think I got this to work. Ok then I guess I can start showing you my collection. This my take me some time.
For starters let me explain my collection. I only have, enough money, time, and sanity to collect books with Mr. Lumley name on it. No contributors or mags. Mabye some day but no time soon.
If it comes in paperback I have it (in one form or another. the Titus Crow books were cut out on the left, oops. All but Headlines Tarra Khash. I'm having a bit of trouble with that one. Most of my old copys were replaced do to over reading. Now that I'm older and wiser, I can read a soft cover with out destroying it.
Give me a few, more pics to come.

My Necroscope series are very creased down the spine but they crease easily because of the thickness of the books.
A lot of my thinner paperbacks don't have creases in them.
A nice collection of books you have there sdkdmd.

Not a problem Silver. I'm glad you all like them. I really love Mr. Lumleys works. No Kenny, it's the fixed one of Screaming, I'm not that lucky of a sod. I have no other copies except what you see. I got rid of my old worn out ones and replaced them. I do read them quite carefully, only opening them to 70 degrees, as not to crease the spine. I have soft covers for reading but if I do open a hard cover i remove the DJ and wash my hands like a doctor before I ever touch it. my wife finds it silly.
I'm looking forward to the vault set I preordered from lighthouse, and Demogorgon from Delirium coming soon.

You have to upload them onto some webspace first. Then click the "insert image" button when your typing your reply and paste the url into the space.
If you put your cursor on my pic, right click your mouse and goto properties.
Look down the list and you'll find the address or url of the webspace my pics on.
You can also upload them onto the message board server as attachments but they come up as a link rather than a picture.

Damn I'd love the bust too but so far never seen it on E-Bay ...I keep looking in the hope that one day it will be mine... Paul saw a shaithis diorama on E-Bay 2 weeks running so bought both when he saw them. Unfortunately Customs slapped another £27 postage on each before they'd hand them over so they were quite costly from the USA. I'm now plucking up the courage whether to make it up and paint it or just leave it pristine in it's sealed box :) I've got the Vasagi the suck bust so now I only need the other bust and the Lady Karen figure... you never know miracles do happen!! lol

So far my new treasures include;
The Compleat Crow
Ship Of Dreams
Elysia
Ghoul Warning
Burrowers Beneath
(all 1st eds./signed(except Burrowers)/ganley)
All ten comics(i love art)
Everything else(28 of them) is PB, read many times, creased etc. so I'm looking for HB/1st eds. of everything. I'll show them off one day.
I keep telling myself I've had an excuse:in Oz its so hard to find any decent quality books-or anything for that matter.

Already painted:confused:. I was looking forward to painting it, I had some paints left over from an old Alien bust I did. Got some nice colours together from the greys, greens, & black. I was almost ready to do it.
Anyway they did a good job on the head, I'd like to redo the cloak. Damn, I'll redo the whole thing, I"m not happy with it, but not straight away. Crappy light & camera and I was in a hurry to show off, so I shoved him on the bookshelf and ....here he is.

Matman, the "plastic" covering is also known as brodart. I brodart all my HCs as they reduce shelfware on the jacket and protect it.

Thanx Tops, I was looking for somewhere to get them. I looked inside the cover of Vamphyri and it was by 'Gaylord' but they only sell them by the hundred i think. I will google Brodart and see if I can get me some for the rest of the HCs.
I think they look better protected as well.

I use the Gaylord for my books. It can be a little confusing finding what you want to use, but you should use them if your going to invest in your books.
You'll probably have buy a hundred or so but it's worth it.
I use #10 adjustible for books 9 1/8 to 10" high

I used the brodart as that's what all the pros that sell to me use, so it can't be that bad ;)
I refuse to wrap my books in gaylord on account of it being a really stupid name.

Haha, it is a bit off-putting.
When I took the cover off to check it out I saw the word Gaylord, I was...W.T.F???
Then again it is just a name....isn't it??

Managed to finally get hold of 16 Sucking Stories last week. Wish I'd got it when it first came out, would have been cheaper:rolleyes:

It's not the one off ebay Kenny. Larry Roberts at Bloodletting Press found it for me.
Funny thing is, including the one I got, I Know of 3 that were up for sale at roughly the same time. Haven't seen 1 for over a year before that

Where you get the NEP ticket from? I don't remember that.
And I see you got a BLP bookmark. I missed out on it

I won a Lettered Terminal on ebay a while back John, from the guy that made the case. he was kind enough to put the NEP ticket in and a small cloth flag.
The ticket originally came with the Lettered edition of 'In The Midnight Museum' by Gary Braunbeck. Mines one of only three painted "scream yellow". I think they chose white for the release version.
Didn't you get a BLP bookmark with an order then?
