Just got Probot. Dave Grohls tribute to Old school Black/Metal. Very heavy and very good. The Lemmy track is the best Motorhead track never released, or written by Motorhead, if that makes any sense. haven't listened to it enough yet to give a complete rundown. Just establishes for me what a talented guy Dave Grohl is, as he writes and plays virtually the whole album.

following on from teh Wookie - and it seems I've missed the boat on this, twice now... ;( Probot are amazing... it's weird though as loads of the tracks sound exactly like the bands that they are from... you have Max Cavalera, and it sounds just like the days when Sepultura were good, and the Lee Dorian track reminded me so much of Midnight mountain by Cathedral it was untrue, shame it was without the clapping though...
Only things missing were Tom Araya and James Hetfield, then and only then would I be able to return to late 80's early 90's metal that this album emcompasses so well.
A superb album
Over and out.

it's funny really as I was listening to "Monolithic Baby" only on saturday evening:) It's really good. Although I have listened to their stuff for about 10 years, it's still as good as it's always been!
Oh, and I was listening to Desert Sessions 1/2 last night. Not sure if I like it, well that's not true, I like it, but I'm not sure what to make of it. I liked 9/10 which I picked up at the weekend.

I think its far better than God Says No, On an equal footing with Powertrip. I liked Superjudge but the production was pretty crappy on that. I think they are a great heavy Rock n Roll band.

it's a shame they are sh*te live though :( musically great, no argument there, but boring beyond belief on the stage.
as for me... still listening to Tenacious D - maybe this is what a hardcore crack addiction is really like - hell, who can tell? Must remember to stop singing Karate in Sainsburys. (lyrics (http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/Karate-lyrics-Tenacious-D/32E2857E0276780A48256B7200088C17))
also been listening to Incubus' A Crow Left of Murder, which is superb... and Metallica's re-issue of Live Sh*t, Binge and Purge - glad they re-issued this baby as I couldn't afford the £100 when it originally came out, mind you I wouldn't pay that now for an album (3 CDs and 2 DVDs in this case, so a bargain at 30 quid)...
Now waiting for my copy of the Complete Masterworks (Tenacious D live DVD)... only £4.99 on cdwow.. a bargain you might say.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Not Nightwish!!! They played at last year's M'era Luna festival (just returned from this year's!) and they were dreadful! If it hadn't been over 100oF I'd have made the effort to move somwhere I couldn't hear them!
But if you like Nightwish, check out Within Temptation... more of the same, heard them playing in Germany on Saturday. Again, to hot and comfy to move, but I wish I'd had earplugs!
Of course you should be listening to Funker Vogt... they were the best band of the weekend, even better than Covenant and Icon of Coil, high praise indeed from me!

I've beem listening to one album exclusivly for the past couple of months. Everyone should own Nevermore's "Enemies of Reality" CD.
1. Enemies Of Reality
We are the nothing grating against the norm
We are the something that will not conform
No one understands what we've been given
We are the useless by-products of soulless meat
We are all gone we all sing the same tragedy
Open wide and eat the worms of the enemy
We are the enemies of reality, in a world that's unforgiving
Waiting to sanitize bastard tongues
To purify the ignorance that hides the sun
The less you understand the more you're driven
Packaged and processed the masses are force fed
The standards they judge us on swallow the rot we shed
Open wide and eat the worms of the enemy
We are the enemies of reality, in a world that's unforgiving
Breathing dust and decay while I'm sipping
Human trust and betrayal
Losing faith once again
Take my hand my friend, my foe, I am enemy
Open wide and eat the worms of the enemy
We are the enemies of reality, in a world that's unforgiving
Open wide, eat the words, become what you most fear

9am Saturday morning to be precise... I predict it will be completely sold out by 9:02!
A lot of tickets have already been sold through the site's mailing list, so there aren't a lot of tickets left.
I'd suggest phoning rather than ordering online... they really will go quick, by the time any websites have been updated they'll be gone!
I will of course be in direct competition with you for tickets, LOL! If I get through I'm gonna try to get a few extra for either date, to sell (at no extra cost cos I'm nice like that!) to ticketless friends!
Is the new album released before then? Hope so!

Picked up a couple of their albums out of sheer curiosity. Think classical female vocal over NIN-esque industrial with a slightly more dancefloor appeal. Especially check out their cover of Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit, garenteed floorfiller at any goth club.

Heard a great band called Novakill at the weekend, so rushed off to a CD stall and bought both their albums, as well as the new VNV Nation CD.
Still waiting for the new Rotersand album, but I'll be seeing them play live in Holland in a few weeks, so hooray!

SOAD Mesmerize rules my life at the moment. I don't like the word genius, but these guys are pretty damn close. It sounds nothing like thier previous albums and yet it's SOAD.
Standout tracks for me are BYOB, Dirty pornography, Question! Cigaro. Actually it's just a brilliant album with no filler.

New album from Sheep on Drugs! Awright! The real and original Sheep on Drugs too, not that annoying git from Tarantella Serpentine pretending to be King Duncan (this does actually make sense if you like Sheep on Drugs!)
Heard some snippets and it's sounding gooooood!

right once again I need to mention the new SOAD album... it's the greatest album I've heard so far this year:) ALthough the new Audioslave album is bloody good.
I saw soad the weekend before last, and it was amazing... came home with a few bruises!!!!
ALso in the car at the moment, is the new Nine Inch Nails (what's it called? with teeth?) - I like what I hear so far, but in the same vein Sam bought me the new release of the downward spiral (relacing the one thrown out - ahhhhhhh)... I love that album!!!!

Got the new Corrosion of Conformity, In The Arms of God, last week. It's got some excellent muddy rock tinged with blues sound. I fully recomend this to anyone.

Did you enjoy the Combichrist gig? I loved it, though I was so tired!
Are you going to go see them at Slimelight on Dec 17th? I imagine Andy will also do a DJ set that night too.
Today I'll be mostly listening to the new Feindflug CD, Volk Und Armee.

just bought a Hanoi Rocks CD, Lean on Me. I know, I know it's very old, but I don't really like much modern music at all!

didn't think it would be possible to release 2 great albums in one year, but SOAD did it. the follow up to mESMERIZE, Hypnotize is absolutely f**king awsome. it's possibly better than the first half of a years worth of music.
