I don't know, what are you people like??? I was just checking out some threads in here, and expected to see a shaun of the dead thread.

I was reading about all I said on the new Dawn of the Dead before, and realised I should post my thoughts on Shaun of the dead.

I saw this a few months ago in a nearly deserted cinema with my friend Wayne... we're jokers, and laugh lots. I think we annoyed lots of people by the rediculous belly laughs that were coming from our area of the cinema - it's very funny, and if you don't thinks it's funny, well you've had your sense of humour removed.

This film is everything I would want from a zombie film, it's funny, it's sad and depressing at times, and it's cheap - yep you read it, it's cheap. Some of it was filmed just down the road from me in North Finchley - when they're in the electric shop, you can see the Autumn House (a pub across the road which I have been known to frequent).

I've heard this is coming out in the states soon (thanks 'sang), so go and watch it, if you like dark comedy.

I think the 5th-ish line in the film is one of the funniest I've ever heard.

It was mentioned a couple of times in other threads... I think I posted how much I enjoyed it, absolutely hilarious!

Looking forward to the DVD!

I think it needs it's own thread... I know it will have been mentioned in the MOvies thread, but I know a couple of you have seen it, and I hope you all step up as it's due a USA release soon!

AWESOME flick. Hilarous. Silly. Just plain good.

A bit slapstick-y, but overall a good giggle.

Been having a Simon Pegg spree recently... watched both series of Spaced, and both of Big Train (had forgotten how hilarious it was!), as well as Shaun of the Dead (again!)

Don't think my neighbours were impressed by us watching Shaun of the Dead in the garden though smile.gif

Big Train was just the funniest although it did take a while before I got used to it's bizarenous.
Not sure which sketch was my fave...The cat and mouse street brawl, Lucifer and Jesus confrontations at work, masturbating at work sketch, the hypnotist sketch where they have an evil one or the one where Simon Pegg is going to be executed and is reading a letter from his sister and does the urgh urgh a urgh a urghhhhh song for about 10 minutes which had rolling around crying with laughter...

I liked the 'urgh a urghhh...' etc song most I think. Although the stare-outs were cool!

Have the DVD and have watched it many times, plus George & I saw it at the theater when it came out. I wonder if Netflix's would have those series Deb, there are many international/foreign films and all I have gotten, & I did notice that they have alot of British series on DVD. Will have to check.. un momento..

Nope, just the movie yet. And Tops, I forget which thread I mentioned first about me & SotD, I think it might have been a 'what movies have you seen lately' that sort of thread.

I love Shaun of the Dead, it's totally fantastic.

Unfortunately I had to give back the copy of spaced that I had when my ex-husband noticed it was missing!

I liked Shaun of the Dead, as I love zombie films, must have seen all of them by now bar one or two that have slipped my attention, so the in joke refences were great! but my boyfriend, wasn't that impressed with the film, he thought it was clever, but not funny - he's got no taste tongue.gif

Have you seen any Japanese zombie films Sophie? Junk is probably the best I've seen, and I've got Wild Zero to watch soon (rock stars, aliens and zombies... fab combo!)

Yes I saw Wild Zero yeaarrs ago at party, it was so silly, and a classic horror err comedy thingy. Addictive at that, must get it on DVD soon.

But apart from that I've sadly not really ventured into Japanese zombie films, so keep me up to date on the really groovy ones!

I will look into Junk, it's got my taste buds tingling!
