Looks like Elton John's being vilified by the NY papers for his musical adaptation of Ms Anne Rice's Vampire novels...

I always thought the darkness and percieved tragedy of a vampyric existance would lend itself better to an opera than a Broadway musical - but then again I a fan of neither so what's my opinion matter?

What do you think, vampire musicals good idea or bad, and any ideas of titles to the hit songs for a Necroscope musical?

I remember this subject coming up during either a previous con or a meet up. (probably drunk at the time)

Could make a decent Rock Opera but NO! You don't want to do that! I'm dreading what their going to do with the film without having to imagine what could be done to music. smile.gif

Ohh I'd come to see your show Phil! :) Personally I don't think Elton has enough 'darkness' in him to be able to pull off a gothic stageshow... opera, musical or otherwise.

Yeah, we never did write our 'Necroscope: The Musical"... it was inspired by a comment Brian made at either KC1 or 2 (I forget which!)... but it provide mucho hilarity at several drinking sessions in the Ben Crouch!

Certainly sounds interesting, if it is any good it'll probably be because it's so bad it makes it good if you know what I mean!
