... what would your chosen "talent" be? I'd like to be someone with the power of healing people. I could travel around the world and cure diseases, restore sight to the blind, speech to the dumb and sound to the deaf, and all other medical problems. Probably sounds a bit goody-goody but that's me. http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/wink.gif

I definetly would not want to predict the future. I saw too many people go down because of that in the "Necroscope" books. I would want a talent like Deanna on Star Trek Next Generation. She can sense other people's emotions and help them work out their problems. A little like a psycic-ologist, but I wouldn't read minds, just emotions. In a sense I would be doing something similar to you, gatewish. Except on the flipside of the coin....physical vs. emotional.

Telekinisis and teleportation. I think it would be cool to move things with your mind and travel instantaneously. Brian is the only one to show what type of route teleportation takes.

I would choose Harry's necroscopic ability. Assuming that there is anything beyond death (even just blackness and our own thoughts), this is something I would find the most valuable. Being able to talk to some of the smartest people in the history of the world would be very enlightening and quite a thrill. To know if von Braun has invented a rocket that could take us past the stars, or it Einstein has managed to merge "wood and marble" (found a way to join quantum physics with relativity, for the laymen out there. http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif ), and many other things from numerous others.
And as Harry showed, almost any other ability imaginable was accessible to him by learning from the deceased.

I agree Tsarkon, It would be cool to talk to all those famous dead people. I'd love to talk to Mozart cos he wrote so many wonderful pieces of music which he's still doing according to Mr. Lumley!!

I could probably best use the "Guardian Angel" talent. Something bad's going to happen and a convenient illness keeps it from me. All the better!
I'd also like to have the power my cat has to make humans sleep for extended periods of time http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif Purr - you sleep now....

If I worked in E-Branch I would want to be a deflector. Just because of the survivability factor. It just seems to me that the rest of the E-Branch members are just to easy to pick off when it come to fighting the Wamphryi.
If I was Wamphryi I would like to have the ability that Janos had (to make dead people rise from their graves and torture them to do your bidding.)
If I had to make up a talent that I would use it would be the ability to be an ANIT- DEFLECTOR. You could lure a deflector to his death and he wouldn't even know it. You would have the ability to give them a false consciousnes that they are okay before you gut them.

INTANGIBILITY!!! that you could turn on/off, or course. Imagine being surrounded by bad guys, and just turning intangible, and walking through them. You could walk through walls, and bullets would go through you. And i recall Vision from the Avengers using this power to kill people in a very gruesome way - He would turn intangible and put his hand through a person's chest or head, and then turn solid! The person would be left with a huge hole in their body. Was i allowed to use a non-e branch power? DONT tell me if this becomes a power, im only on last aerie

I like the ability that I though up: being so average that people forget about you and you can just seem to fade into the background. I'd have to make a concious effort to turn it off, otherwise people would find themselves forgetting what my face looked like, how I talked, and basicaly getting me confused with someone else. Also, if I don't concentrate on it, I just seem to fade into the background, that's how average I would be. I think it's kind of a cool power because of the infiltration potential. Think about it, what better spy than the one that noone remembers? Of course, then again, I probably wouldn't be looking forward to any promotions in E-Branch as even my boss would have a hard time remembering me (well, depending on which one. Keenan Gormley and Wellsley would probably be able to see me, but Darcy or Alec would have a hard time).

Ok, this one is a little weird. If humans only use approximately 10% of their brain, I want to be able to use all 100%. Who knows what secrets are locked therein.
(That was probably one of the stupidest things ppl have ever heard, but hey, my name says it all)

I'd be a locator, that way I could find out where I put my girlfriends ring and I wouldn't be in so much bloody trouble.

Ouch Rixy, that is not the best position to be in, thats for sure! Good luck in finding it!
And as for what talent I would want? Well, since I do care for the environment, I suppose Anne Marie's talent, although I'm not too fond of the idea of looking like hell warmed over, but what with the planet as it is now... :-| And my other choice would be a Deflector, would be nice to have that.

If this is an option I'd pick to be a Wamphyri. You have all the powers you need there, telepathy, mind probe, virtual immortalty, super strength, regeneration, powers of suggestion, and metamorphisim.

I don't think that being Wamphyri counts as a talent, I think that's more of a parasitic organism kind of thing. Certified Nut, I saw a character like that once. He was called Rennesaince Man and appeared in Expose: Abberant for the RPG Abberant. He was really really smart, didn't have a subconsious, and was really perceptive. That would be kind of cool, though he did have a tendency to be very literal. And of course, that's just assuming that you're a normal person with no esper potential at all. Imagine if you had even a shred of a talent, what would happen then? I shudder to think.

I want to be a tree.
If I had to choose a talent though, I'd have to be the greatest hypnotist ever..imagine it.
Yes, Mr Gates, you do owe me a few billion...
Of course you're all my wives Britney, Elle, and Claudia...hehehee
No, Mr Wamphyri, I'm not edible. http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif
Sounds like a great choice to me!!

Pzrtal, the way I figure it is that the possibilities are limitless. Considering that the brain controls all functions who knows what ya could do. I've never heard of Renaissance Man so I kinda had my own take on what might happen. Regenerative abilities could be as good as, if not better than the Wamphyri. Speed and agility also rivalling that of the Wamphyri may be possible. We may even have esper talents locked in the whorls and recesses of our brain. Hey wait a minute...maybe that's what the vampire leech does - it allows access and full function of all the areas of the brain. Who knows?
