I'm lost... over the past four weeks I've read 7 books to review for my site, and my Lords and Ladys... my eyes can't keep this up!
I need relief... I need escape, but I'm so lost in the imaginations of others, I cannot think of what to do myself...
So tell me what you do to escape the monotony of your everyday life (besides visit here!)... whatever it may be - relatively mudane or perverse, anything to save my weary eyes!
I'm looking forwrd to finding out what wannabe Lords and Ladys do for fun...

<font color="004400">Hmm, what I do to relax. First off, I am usually accosted by the flying cats when I get home, so of course I have to spend time with them. i.e.; feed, play, clean out box, play, listen to what they have done during the day (if you act like you are listening..they will vocalize quite a bit!), play, etc. until they get tired.
Then I turn on the stereo, and if I like what is playing, I keep it on the radio, if not, then I put in a CD of Berlioz or some Rach. Write what I have done for the day in my journal, and if there is a posting in the RP clubs to make, then I write out those story lines.
Then I either pick up a book, do a bit of Origami, do a reading or figure someone's numbers or crochet. And after about 15 minutes of that, the cats accost me yet again, and I am doomed for the rest of the evening because I ignored them while I was doing something that didn't involve them. Anyone with pets I am sure can sympathize.
That is typical Winter. Spring, Summer, Fall...either out working on the garden, fishing, camping (time permitting), outdoor things. Along with of course the cat schedule...</font color>

Poetry, Bach & Cats... Mmm...
Well, for Poetry, I do write short stories... http://www.pybob.i12.com/stories/index.html ...
For Bach, I play the piano a bit and Toccata & Fugue in D minor are my faves...
And Cats, well I'm sure you're familiar with the innuendo..!
I just fancy doing something different, I want to leech your imaginations - the depths of your egos... ANYTHING!
Let me know..!?!

I like to write, both poetry and fiction. I also read a lot, both novels, short stories, and role playing game books. And of course, when I'm bored I just crank up the stereo and listen to Mozart, or Rob Zombie, or the Beatles, or one of the other large number of types of music that I listen to. Either thar or I talk on the phone, program HTML, or game. I do a lot of gaming online.

For those more in touch with the spirit...
I like to meditate, and I don't mean sitting cross legged chanting mantras. I'm lucky living where I do. 20 feet from my door is a cliff-face overlooking the city in which I live. I enjoy sitting there and just, well - being. I find it a great way to forget the days tensions, away from people, looking down on the rat race, glad I'm out of it until tomorrow. It's a great place to have a quiet smoke (if you do) and a glass of scotch (if you do that as well). If that isn't enough to help me unwind, I resort to punching the hell out of a punching bag http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thanx Lord Shaithis, all praise accepted with gratitude... perhaps you could tell some publishers!
And Certified Nut, I incredubly jealous of your locale, especially living where I do now... As for smoking, yes, yes, yes... both kinds... And as for Scotch... Glenmorangie is a fine single malt, and I go for a nice Irish Whiskey as-well, you know Black Bush and alike...

Considering your eyes are tired from reading & writing I would not recomend that.
For me when my eyes are burning from to much reading, computer work or paper work I give them a rest and play with my kids 6mos & 23 mos. My older 2 don't play much anymore and try to twist the rules so thats to strenuous sometimes. Nothing to focus on directly and whatever pops into your mind to do with them they love it. Nothing is barred because they are learning from you while you are learning from them.
Or Go play frisbee with a dog, teach a cat how to fetch.
You know total brain dead stuff and it eases the spirit and mind.
Go for a hike, I also like my motorcycle for a short or long trip. Nothing to do but think and ride. Wear good goggles though or your eyes will be worse for it.
Good luck

The hardest part about playing frisbee with a dog is keeping them in a circle. I must ascend to Wamphyri before I can make a true Frisbee Dog.
Do you eat chinese food????? and you thought that was sweet & Sour pork too.

I like to find new ways of annoying or amusing my husband (starts as amusing then becomes annoying). One quiet evening at home, I decided to dribble at him for a while - he laughed at first, but then he got really grossed out and annoyed with me after about an hour. Speaking in a high pitched whine continually had the same effect.
Someone please reassure me that I'm not the only one who does this sort of thing!

Generally if I want to clear my head i'll go out on my motorbike and have a blast round the country roads. I find that by the end of the ride I've forgotten about everything else and i've got a huge evil grin on my face.
If I just want to mellow out then I tend to go up the road to Bodiam castle and sit in the grounds. It's the one place where I find i can totally relax and clear my head.

Back to what I do for relaxation:
For a quick hiatus from the drudgery of my daily life I head to waterfront along the Patuxent River, The St. Mary's River, or the Chesapeake Bay to shoot sunrise or sunset photographs. I also try to find good shots of lighthouses, boats and birds that are usually only found on the coastal areas (Blue Herons ore my favorite and quite difficult to get close to).
For the big stress relievers I like to join my buddies for white water rafting in West Virgina. I am organizing a trip now for September. Nothing quite reminds you how unimportant your bosses deadline is or how insignificant that last angry customer is when you chance your life to fast water and hard rocks.

If you can't tear yourself away from the computer for very long try scanning things.
Things like......any body part that you can fit into the scanner (I'm sure you can get very creative with that). When you run out of body parts, try foods that squish good, but clean up easily. *It slices, dices, and makes thousands of Julian fries.*
When you run out of gross ideas, try something alive. Grab a neighbor's pet cat or dog, buy a little pet fish and stick it on your scanner. Better yet, get some bugs and see if you can capture that "deer caught in the headlights"look as it comes into their beady little bug eyes.
When you have a nice collection of scans, then organize them. The pictures make great greeting cards for almost any occasion for that special loved one in your life.
This has been a helpful hint from your friend Luna.

All those bug guts, hair, good grime, and various other assorted odd liquids, solids, and gelatins (yeah, that's it, lets scan some SPAM. There's already enough of it floating around on the net, noone will notice a little more). Damn, now I'm gonna have this weird picture of scanning a hunk of SPAM stuck in my head all day. Oh well.

We are also one of the most corrupt and violent countries in the world. We have 10 year olds shooting each other up because of name calling. We also have a government which almost appears to promote corruption. Read our newspapers and you'll see something new every single day. Some child has been shot by another child, or another politician has been caught with his pants down, or another killer has walked free from jail because of technicalities, or another child has been molested by some sick #$%^. Ok, I'm done now, please excuse the ranting and raving, I've been doing research for my paper, and my topic is violence among adolescents, so I've seen a lot of articles and other such materials talking about that a lot, and it just makes me sick. Sorry if I've pissed anybody off.

So the dutch live in the cesspool of cesspool of sin, Well we don't shoot each other as regularly as you do (guns aren't bought on every street corner in the Netherlands) but the rest goes double!! and (not so) proud of it!

All of this talk makes me glad to live in a country like canada. We have much the same things going on as any other country, its just so goddamn cold we do everything indoors where no one can see.
No im just shittin ya, everything seems to be the same the world over, even here, and no its not really that cold, in fact it was +20 celcius here today.
as for the drinking and sex issue i mean hey guys ; people are peopl all over the world.
Its all the same everywhere it just all depends on how much the media and public want to broadcast it.

Shaithis - Didn't mean to imply you were proud of it. Just meant what Vasagi has stated so eloquent in the post above

I play the drums, do crossword puzzles, watch ball games, and tend the garden. Here's a rose for all the ladies:
