The Town of Books...

<font color=440066>Yes, in Wales near Brecon there is a town (well, more of a village!) called Hay on Wye that has earned the name 'The Town of Books'. And not without good reason...

It's population is about 1,300... and has over 36 bookshops! There's a castle there, filled with books... The cinema has no big screen, just floor to ceiling with shelves upon shelves of books... There are even shelves on the streets where you pay into honesty boxes...

Any of you folks got anywhere perfect where you'd live if you could? Or a fave bookshop, you know the kind... like a TARDIS in dimensions, rickety stairs and steps, doors too small to be the ordinary kind...?</font>

way to go Pybob! Well if I could construct my own town it wouldn’t just have a lot of bookstores but it also would have a big movie theatre which played all my favourite and new films 24 hours a day. On top of that I would insist on a arcade with all those brand new VR games, a subtropical swimming paradise with those huge waterglides (I don’t know if they’re called that in English), Disco’s & Bars with a permanent happy hour http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif , A big lake in the vicinity of town for a bit of fishing, a lot of old castles (god I love a good medieval castle) and some woods to have a nice stroll through in summer. I guess I would start out with a huge movie theater too, but one that shows my favorite old movies like Die Hard as well.

I would have to have a ton of places to play sports, so indoor facilities for every sport could there too.

Did I mention that all the houses would be in the sky? That way there would be more room for stores and complexes.

there was one like that (cinema) in Houston where i used to live.....awesome, only they'd left the screen up so it was sooooooooo cool..........
