I was just thinking. Anyone remember their first post here? I just wrote something on that on another thread. I remeber talking about Buffy the Vampy slayer, how much I liked it. And some of you guys jumped on my like flys on dookie. Kind of funny actually. I think Scarlet came to my defense. I never thanked you for that..so...Thank you Scarlet! hehe..

Wow, I can't remember... I can remember wondering what the hell to call myself, and just tapped in the first thing that sprang to mind! Seems to have stuck now though!

kortag, that is some memory! I can't remember my last post much less my first one!
My name came from my AOL screen name. I couldn't come up with any variations of my real name that wasn't already taken when I joined AOL, so I just picked a name from a book I liked. Since I had been posting forever under that name on Brian's UseNet group, I just carried it forward as my name here.

I know! I know! My first post was something to the effect of... "Welcome to the new board everyone." Yeah, yeah - it went something like that.
Then I had the "how is everyone" posts, "quit crying" posts, "get off my board or else" posts..., wow - what times we've had! http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif
It can only get better - right? http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif
And a quick thanks to everyone who gave their best to my father. His surgery went well and he is on the road to recovery. God bless you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Hmmmm...My first post? I guess you could say this is it! I've been lurking here for a couple of months, getting to know the board and it's populace. I couldn't decide to post here or in "An Introduction," but I decided a topic about first posts would be ideal.
My name is Chris, and a good friend of mine turned me on to Brian Lumley about 3 years ago. I have read Necroscope 1 thru 5 twice, but am just getting started on the others. (about 3 quarters thru Bloodbrothers.)
I (obviously) am a huge SK fan and would not listen when told that there was something better out there. I believe now. I am also told they get better and better! Is this possible? We shall see.
My friend has been after me to sign on here as well and now that I have I hope to be around somewhat regularly. To bad I didn't come around to begin with, I never got to be a thrall! Darn! What a shame!
Don't say too much when I'm around, at least 'till I'm caught up. I'll stay away from The Source and try not to be redundant. http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif
Take it easy..............

Welcome Krad!
Oh, and Kortag... I believe my first post was defending your post about 'Buffy'...
If I remember right, you caught a bit of hell for that... but then again, maybe I don't remember right.
My memory certainly isn't what it used to be, that's for sure.

Well i have now finished the first 5 boks in the necroscope series, and it looks as if i'll have to read them again,(i think i'll struggle in the task)or i'll start on the lost years, can any tell me does the standard keep up?,because just when i think it cant, something happens which makes the book stick to your hand again.
Thankyou for the welcome scarlet, and also i like your name.

If you've just finished Deadspawn, my advice is to move on to The Vampire World series. You can always come back to The Lost Years. That is, after all, the order in which they were written.
Those three books will hook you for life!
