Hi,

Just wondering what fellow 'Lumlians' will be doing (or did do depending on reply date)to celebrate All Hallow's Eve??

Myself; I usually celebrate in an understated manner... Watch a movie (probably something like "The Hunger" or Polanski's "Fearless Vampire Killers", depending on mood) till it's the Witching Hour, then curl up with some short stories By Mr Lumley (and others) to read, sometimes by candle light, into the wee hours.

Last year I read "Lord of the Worms", "Fruiting Bodies", and "The Caller of The Black" back to back: Excellent. I'd recommend something similar to all Lumley readers who like their blood of the 'chilled' variety. A quiet house, dim lights, nothing but the "tick-tick-tick" of a favorite clock obscured by darkness on the mantle-piece. Just you, perhaps a bottle of red wine, the books. Magical.

I'll probably do something similar this year. Settle down in front of the fire with books of occult forbidden knowledge, and browse the ancient secrets Brian has wrested from dead lips..., ancient dreams wrested from dead minds...

Muuuaaaaahahaarrr!!!!

Have a happy and safe Halloween everyone.

'Shroom.

also, i'll be ignoring all the trick or treaters....

A few friends and I are going camping for a few days in the Florida Keys. A little snorkling and perhaps some boating. As well as a few drinkie poo's. Its a holiday for many of the people I associate with, so probably to some some candle lighting and sea goddess rituals as well. Hehe.

Hiya Shr'

Not much down for this year's as I've got an interview Wednesday morning, so I'll be reading through my preparation notes and reciting bull-sh## business speak such as "Let's take a helicopter view", "Ballpark figure" and "We're all singing from the same hymn sheet".

However, I went to a Hallowe'en party last Saturday, wore my Brian Lumley.com tee-shirt and got Brahms and Listz.

Well seeing as I'm at uni {university of central Lancashire} I'll be going to the union all dressed up and looking for the absinth {which we get a free taste of}
I'll be going as a mad doctor as I have the Lab coat some hair gel, and bought some face paint so should be good.
I had a couple of kids {all they ahd dressed up in were those cheap 60p plastic masks} knocking on my door about a week ago but all I had in the house was a tub of marg so I laughed in their faces said I had nothing and shut the door.
Happy halloween

It seems that Halloween traditions are universal. I'll be renting John Carpenter's the Thing (you should hear Brian recreate key scenes from that movie!) and/or one of George Romero's Living Dead flicks.
Just so you know, the WFC was a blast and keep checking the website because as soon as ShadoeWolfe finishes hibernating he'll be updating with photos from the autograph signing!!!! What a night THAT was?!?!?!

Merry Meet and a happy Samhain to you all. This year Mathew I am going to be........

Lighting candles, setting dinner places for my dead ancestors and generally celebrating the end of the turn of the wheel.

Oh and practising my tarot readings, I've just taken it up and so far I'm not the greatest medium ever known. I'm told I should try another pack as the Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot I have are difficult to read.

Unfortunately I have work in the morning so I won't be up long after the witching hour http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/frown.gif

Oh my goodness is that the time.. sorry it's five to five time to go home and have fun.

Belated Hellish Halloween to you all... sorry I'm late, but I've been away from my beloved Mac for a while! 'Shroom, I know what you weren't doing at the weekend... drinking in Trillians with me! Grrrr!

I celebrated Halloween in the true Goth style last night, by spending three hours getting ready, then hour and a half on the train getting to the Bram Stoker Tavern, then leaving after a minute cos they were playing Take That (waaaay too scary for me)!

Found another half decent pub nearby though and downed six vodka & Red Bulls in half an hour to make up for it! Plus got my photo taken for a local newspaper, so the make-up was worth it!

I'm really really really really really really really sorry about 'the Trillians incident'. It won't happen again. Wild garlic and crossbows will see to that...

Besides, I think your getting a good deal Manky-wise....

Just no expensive cocktails, please?!?

I had a great Halloween... Read
"Dagon's Bell" and "The Outsider" (HPL). A very quiet house too!
