Happy Messageboard registration anniversary to Bobby, Kenickie, Lichloathe, Silky, and me. http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif

Now on to the meat of this uncharacteristic business of starting a thread:

Years ago during a phase of producing sketches inspired by the Necroscope books I went on a flight of fancy and designed, on paper, a childs' playset of The Last Aerie. It would be two feet high, have five levels in which to position out of scale action figures, and there would be the option of buying an extension for the playset raising it to a mightily imposing four feet tall. Naturally it would be made from 1970s plastic -- when plastic was plastic and not the vile immitation stuff they use nowadays. http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/frown.gif

Clearly this was just a whimsical bit of fun, and thinking about it now makes me wonder what one peice of imaginary merchandise from Brian's work would you like to own? Harry Keogh Lunchbox? Titus Crow Wristwatch? Lady Wratha room guard with light up eyes? Wamphyri Gauntlet with realistic battle sounds? Am I the only one who thinks like this?

Mine would have to be a box of 1/32 scale Lords, Ladies, and Lieutenants in the style of Airfix's plastic soldier sets.

Necroscope cereal. Crunchy honey-sweetened skulls that stay crispy in milk. Perhaps with marshmallow Mobius strips, as well.

I always thought it would be cool to have a few of those HPL type books from the Titus Crow series, I can't remember the names of any of them but you know the ones I mean... parchment, written in blood and bound in human skin.

Of course I don't know how you go about getting the CE mark or the equivalent American quality standards mark for this kind of book.... imagine the fun that can be had in having The Necronomicon as a coffee table book http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif

As for toys I'm all for action figures, my son would love that, I can just see him now. Harry Keogh meets.... Batman, Daffy Duck or Darth Vader. Well eventually they must fight all of his other toys as well http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif

Don't forget NSN Nathan
Once the film's out, there's always the crappy tie-ins with KFC & McDonalds.
Tacky PLASTIK food and toys.

But they don't have to be given the rights to bring out these pieces of shit. And lets keep it away from Kelloggs.

My self.... a 30cm tall Warrior, complete with realistic inflating gas bladders (with smell), opening pouch and raging battle sounds.

Cool.

Myself would be the Battle Gauntlet. I actually made one a while back, since I know how to weld and work with metal. Did it for an art project, got 100%, and my teacher wanted me to get physicatric help! It was fun though, rather scaled down I imagine, since I had to bring it into the school, I couldn't make it fully functional!

Sadly, I didn't bring it with me when I went to college. I plan on someday revisiting it, and compleating it. (Full weaponry!) I you want a rough idea of what it looked like, I based my design off of Symon Ward's drawings, since he did several clear drawings. (particularly good were the Lady Karen and Lord Canker illustrations) I hope I didn't infringe on any copyrights doing this, just like to say it was not for profit in any way! Besides, it was a fun project, I just wanted to see if I could do it. It would be really great if I could get my hands on some chain mail, theres no way I could muster the patience to make my own!

I hope this helps.
