Okay, now I know it's only 12:12pm Saturday and you will all be recovering from having too many small sherry's but I WANT TO KNOW?
Whaaat happened yesterday at the christmas thingy with Brian in London. I couldn't get there and I'm relying on all of you lucky people who made it to fill me (us, the rest of board)in.
COME ON GET UP, TAKE A PARACETAMOL AND LET US IN ON THE GOSS.
Oh sorry did I shout too loud for your gentle heads there, but I'm getting impatient!!!!

I can't write. I still don't have all my coordination back yet so I can put that down to having a fantastic time.
I just hope I didn't say or do anything too embarressing.... I think someone spiked my mince pie.

Can't talk, still in shock...
Great meeting you Johnno, and all the rest of you guys again...
For the first time in my life I was tongue-tied, my voice kept on pitching up an octave or two.
Brian Lumley and his gorgeous wife, Silky, are two of the nicest, most approachable people you can ever meet; all I can say is I can't wait for the next opportunity to meet them both. If you haven't already then it is definitely an experience not to be missed!

Booze, Fags and Mr & Mrs Lumley
Got to London with Scarlet and her brother, made my way to Gothmanse, got changed and set off for the book shop.
WHAT CAN I SAY!!!
Fantastic time was had by all. Presented Silky with a box of choccies, and Pybob& I clubbed together to buy Brian a bottle of brandy from us all.
Brian cracked the bottle open and there I was, being served brandy & coke by my Fave Author. Met Johno for the first time and gave Topol a bithday card.
We were in the bookshop for a bit but Pybob and I had to keep nipping outside to have a fag to calm us down.
The crew then went to the pub, a couple of Brian's Editors joined us and the night was one where you wish it would never end.
Still can't belive it, a Manc scally sat round a pub table, quaffing champagne with the Lumleys and a great crew of new found mates from other BL bashes.
Of all the highlights of the evening the main one was:
I was sat at the pub table and someone behind me ruffled my hair up. I thought it was GG or Scarlet messing about, I turned round to give merry hell and there was Mr Lumley with a broad grin saying "Howaie bonny lad."
Funniest memory of the night:
GG, Pybob & I walked Brian and Silky to the tube station, got a taxi back to Gothmanse. The 3 of us were walkibng through Stratford early hours of Saturday morning singing "December 63 (Oh what a night)" by The Four Seasons, and yes we were singing the falsetto part at the top of our voices.
Got back to Gothmanse and babbled on for ages about the night until we crashed out. Woke up the next day with a bad head, but it was well earned.
Can't wait to see the Piccies, so I know it wasn't a dream.
OH WHAT A NIGHT! December 2000 - The re-mix

Wish I could have stayed longer..... http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/frown.gif But I had to get home... oh well maybe next time!
Speak later
Tops.
Ps. I was great just bumping into Brian and Silky in the street when I was lost looking for the party! http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif I was like "are you Brian and Silky?" I knew they were... They are definitely the most approachable people ever!
The Highlight was Scarlet's thoughfulness for me... she got Brian to sign my birthday card... what could be better?

My powers of speech have been rendered useless!!!
What can i say that hasn't already been said?
The night was fantastic, my only gripe being that for me it finished about an hour earlier than everyone else, i heard about the *oh what a night* capers and i wish i was there for that.
Brian and Silky are truly lovely, amazing and so thoughtful of others, we had a blast.
I feel like the group, to mention Pybob, Goth, Jase, Johno, Tops along with Brian, Silky, Brians editor, and Steven Jones (another editor and long time friend of Brian) knew each other for ages. There was no animosity (sp?) and we had tonnes of laughs all around.
Johno had a champagne shower, Pybob was bouncing up and down all night, Me and Goth were just grinning and Jase looked decidedly starstruck!
Tops, i hope you like the card, and i hope you have a great day today
Got my books signed, got hugs, got pictures and i got an ACE pic in london on sat while i was traepsing around, i only hope it comes out well and u can all see what i'm talking about.
i'm waffling, but i'm still gobsmacked!

Thanks Scar, Starstruck was the word I was looking for.
The night couldn't have been topped even if Elvis had been sat at the next table.

Oh what a fright!!!
You're right Katie, we were scary but we held the tune.
Shame Scarlet wasn't with the 3 of us singing in the wee small hours, then we would have been The Four Seasons.
The song of choice wasn't Northern Soul but it's still a classic 70s Floor Filler. LOL
Sweet Surrender What a night
