Forget the movie. Get a mini-series on cable... to much blood and gore for regular t.v. (And nudity.. lady karen ...DROOL......)
Get hbo or someone do it like the spawn series...

i say abridge book one and two but also have a the first episode about the first Wamps. gettting banished through the starside gate... show starside the wamps and beasts in full glory right from the begin.. people will be hooked .. then tell the story as writen ...

you can't lose

I would have to agree with you on the idea of combining books one and two, but let's be realistic Cable??? this story needs the effect of the BIG SCREEN and the SOUNDS that you can only get in the theatres. Cable would become to rerunnish just like old time T.V. which would detroy the whoe Aura of all of Necroscope stories.

My only problem with that is even with moveies now pushing the 2 1/2 - 3 hour mark , Your not going to grab that audiance untill you hit star side . In a series you can hit flashbacks when harry tells his story that first time at e-branch . In a film it would take to long... you need to do this an episode at a time clifhanger style .. then when you get to the starside war with the dweller .. make that a movie ...

hook 'em with a series
Kill 'em with the films....

blood brothers should be a movie also and the way invaders is starting that also.. all the rest should be a series...

Just my 2 cents

ahhh but spawn was a movie first! oops! you hook them with a 21/2 hour Blood Brothers! which would entice the movies about harry while making them fall for his sons harry jr but mainly Nathan. ONly on the SILVER SCEEN!

Rashagoth is right I feel that it would be best to at least start with the movie then maybe develop it into a series or mini-series that way you could get the best of both worlds. I mean Highlander started as a movie, but then I feel the series kinda hurt true story of it all.

I feel it could go both ways .. you have your points .. but then look at the x-files.... Heck It's all up to Big Bad Brian anyway.. what ever it is i'll support him...

(UNLESS IT GOES OPERA)

How about a movie series - unfortunately the only comparison I can make is with Batman. Maybe this would work. You could start with the Whampiri lords & ladies in Starside and focus on them trying to invade earth with Harry Keough the Necroscope attempting to stop them with the help of E-branch (or something similar). Then when Harry gets killed his work is taken over by Nathan.
I think a cable/tv series would just become too cheesy and make a complete mockery of the whole thing. Look at that crappy program Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Do we really want something similar to happen?
