Well.... I'm waiting to see what Peter Jackson does with his Lord of the Rings Movie... Lets face it, if he can make an excellent job of that then he would have to be my choice for a Necroscope movie

Gotta agree 100% there, Moth. I've been a Tolkien fan for years and years. I remember what the las effort of Lord of the Rings was like (the animated version). I cannot wait to see what this ones going to be like, but I'm sure he would be worthy of B.L. if he does a good job. By the way, when's Lord of the Rings coming out?

How about Tim Burton, his portrayal of Dark worlds and villans in Batman and Sleepy Hollow certainly seem to fit the require ments???

I suggest Alex Proyas. His direction of The Crow and Dark City proves that he can do dark drama AND action, which are both key elements of Necroscope. I know this is a forum for director choices, but I also have a choice for who should do an original musical score. Either Trevor Jones or Angelo Badalamentini (I hope that is spelled correctly).

Excellent choices, all of you. I do think though that Tim Burton tends to work in a bit of dark humor a little too often in his work. The Dark City director on the other hand is much more in touch with the little things that make horror horrifying. Also his subtle use of visual effects is very exilirating.

Alex Proays would be a good choice, I think. Butanother option, I think, would possibly be Wes Craven. Lord knows he -really- needs to get out of doing those damned annoying Scream jobs, and get back to doing -real- horror, and terror. Last but never least, John Carpenter is another good prospect. Granted, his film Vampires was a bit lame, and shamed the book, but over-all it was good as a stand alone movie, I think. But hey, if anything, the Soundtrack was, and is cool! [chuckles]

Hey Ian and Moth, just a side note. The first Lord of the Rings movie will be out in the summer of '01. Then the next one will be on Christmas the same year and then the last in the summer of '02. Try lordoftheringsmovie.com. Oh and I think Tim Burton is a great idea. He has a good dark streak that is perfect. If we are worried about his humorus side..well maybe he can work with B.L. directly for output on how the film can go. I think that he would be the type of person to do that.

I can't believe no one here has suggested Tim Burton to direct the movies.

I have a few suggestions.....
George Romero (love his Zombie Movies!)...Tim Burton (Great Visual sense)...Alex Proyas (very dark, very surreal)...what about perhaps Brian DePalma (anyone remember Scarface with Al Pacino?)..Paul Verhooven (Starship Troopers, Robocop etc.,etc...)...just a few Directors I would suggest

If it was up to me to pick, I would have to choose between George Romero and Peter Jackson. I think I would tend to lean a little more in Jackson's direction, I'm confident in his ability to work with such an epic. He's great with working with a budget too, he could make a modest budget look grand.

how weird would the film be if David Lynch (twin peeks, lost highway) directed it. like during the wamphyri council, Lom Halfstruck would be dancing on the table speaking to Lady Karen backwards. it would just be messed up.
