Hey Fang Gang,

I was playing this utterly fantastic game called LEGACY OF KAIN: SOUL REAVER, and I was completely sucked into it! It had amazing graphics, an intelligent storyline, and very cool creature designs. It made me wonder why a Necroscope computer\console game hasn't come about. I mean, there's so much material to work with. Instead of adapting a book into a game, it should be another 'LOST YEARS' type story featuring Harry and the E-Branch trying to save the world (yet again).

What do you think, sirs?

Yes that would be great, Kissfannc. My bud Krynus has some game where you can kinda create different creatures to use in a similar fashion as Starcraft. If he reads this maybe he can tell you what it is.

I think a computer game of Necroscope would be a fantastic idea. i dont know much about computer games but i have played total annihilation b4 and a set up like that would totally rock! you could make it so that there were like three teams to chose from...the wamphyri, e-branch and the russians. and for each team u have your highest and lowest classes eg. for wamphyri the lowest class could be something like trogs and then the highest class would be the wamphyri-lord of the aerie. And the idea of the game would be to see which team is most powerful...to conquer your enemy!
i dont know if my ideas are any good or not but i'd buy the game http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif
what do you think??

Games in teh Vampire world would be an excellent idea. In my closet shelf I have over 30 games. Only three of four are still on my hard drive. Nothing new is coming out that grabs you. These types of fames would most definetely grab you. Real time and Turn based games both. But i'll go you one better.

An adventure game. Your a thrall, working your way up to Master. Imagine yourself fighting another Wamphyri and you look up, and see one of their war beasts coming at you, claws and hooks wanting your leach. Dont' know about the rest of you, but my sleep would have to wait until I beat the game!

They could run that just like the Gabriel Knight series.

How about a flight sim where u r on a flyer or, even better, a warrior in a massive Whampyri war!!! Or a 1st person game, like Unreal, but with different missions, modesof travel, etc...

I'd prefer a real-time Starcraft style game though... fast-paced, non-repetitive...

Oh, and Kor, the game yer speaking of was Warlords 2, an older turn-based game. Nothing like Starcraft really, but a great game none the less. It had a Scenario Editor where you could make your own units, maps and shit. I did one based on Necroscope, had the Barrier Mountains cutting the land in half.... made a few units (vampires, warriors, lieutenants...) Anyway, the game's history.

It really shouldn't make much to make a Necrocraft game. The engine is already there. Just come up with the units, landscapes, abilities... etc. Question, should there be separate buildings for each side, or how about the Whampyri just adding levels to one or more stacks.... etc, instead of a barracks they have their laboratory layer of the stack. Each layer could have it's own unique look, so depending on how each stack is built, they will all look differently. Ok, now I'm rambling....

Oh, and Psychotic, just so u know, the engine used in Total Annihilation is the same that I was talking about, so I was just elaborating on your idea. I think it would be killer.

so Krynus you want to make a game that focus's just on the wamphyri right?? thats a cool idea but if the game is based on the book 'necroscope' then i'd like to see harry or his talent in there somewhere...that's just me though. also if it doesn't just focus on the wamphryi and has other races or sides in it then it might be a little more interesting because there is a wider variety. but like i said, i'm not that knwledgable when it comes to computer games so i dont know what is possible to actually do.

An excellennt idea butterfly. A Starcraft type of game with the three races. E-branch, Wamphyri, and travelers. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

hehe...thanx silkensteel http://www.brianlumley.com/ubb/smile.gif. ahhh...just talking about a game being made makes me all excited lol. it'd be so cool if it actually did happen and u could make it so it could be played over the internet. so u could have battles with people rather than the computer.

Think i'll top you one on the internet idea butterfly. Three races: E-branch, trying to study the wampyres. Wampyres trying to rule everyone. Travelers, well their just trying to survive with their blood still in their veins!

Each group has leaders, thralls, the whole nine yards. Just like in the books except it's in real time like someone mentioned earlier an Everquest type game. Even have people become leaders of their own stacks.

Hell, wy not have someone play as the Russians. They'd be trying to run the whole show!

Good greif...now I wish this game would come out tomorrow!

This may be a bit late in the posting ,but why not use a doom or a hexen engine , i know as an engine , they are dated , but hexen if nothing else carryed the same dark imagry for me , as the books did , and the weaponry would be about right for starside
while doom would be about right for sunside

Realtime is based on actual days. Sun comes up sun goes down so you have to prepare for the actual time flowing through the game.

I think incorporating flyers and Arial fights would be a good mix as well as an RPG in first person.

Something like Tribes where you can delegate the hunt on sunside as well

I think that Necroscope has the potential to become a major franchise in much the same way as Star Trek/Wars are. Were it to become such a franchise then all suggestions here would have equal validity, look at all the different types of games that have been released with the Phantom Menace.
